What size AIO are you after?

I have a couple of spares.

Yes, I am to blame - I have no shame! :D

You got the Zalman AIO, Spreadie? I'm looking to adapt one to my video card. Specifically looking for that one, It's part of the mod I'm working on.

Also, adapting the Enthoo ITX for push-pull can be done, just requires a good bit of cutting and a steady hand. Wish me luck, I'm trying tomorrow.

No, I'm afraid not. My spare AIOs are not the ones with the round pump blocks.

That's handy, cheers. What have you got? I've no idea what I'm after mate to be honest. There are so many conflicting performance results tables out there and according to most user reviews they will all cool the sun, silently. :)

Thanks Dave. Let's take this to PM. :thumb:

    Edit:

That's my cooling sorted. Great stuff, thanks Dave.

This is going to be far from the smallest ITX build in the world but it should be interesting. I can't wait for the bits to arrive.

So far, the specs look like this:

    New bits:
    Asus z97i-Plus
    16GB Ballistix Tactical
    Corsair Carbide Air 240
    Cooler Master Nepton 240M

    Bits carried over:
    EVGA GTX 780
    Crucial BX100 250GB SSD
    Samsung f3 1TB HDD
    PCP&C Solencer 910w PSU

That's nearly it, just a processor left to get now.

Rather dodgy photography attempt by me:

I need lessons in how to photograph internally lit PC cases.

[edit] looks marginally better in blue

Looking good! What have you got the Hue+ set to? I saw a video of one earlier, it was changing "hue" according to temperature, which was cool.

I was just fiddling around in manual mode - turning off every other LED.

However, in Smart mode, you can make it respond to CPU or GPU temperature, or even the frame rate you're getting. There's also a beta section for making it respond to audio.

Very impressive. It's crazy how things have progressed.

Hmm, I think I'll have to dig out my old cold cathode tube and see how it looks in the new build.

My new build and first mITX PC is finally up and running. I'd like to tidy it up some more and get some nice sleeved cables but it's amazing what can be done with a permanent marker. :)

Overall I'm very pleased, here a few quick snaps I took just now (ignore the blue LED fan - it's only temporary :)).

Do you mean your first 'mITX'...?

Nice work though! I absolutely love those Asus Motherboards.

Cheers, I like this little board too (and oops, yes I did mean mITX). The connectors are all in sensible places which made routing the cables very easy:

The fan headers and CPU power connector are back/right and the case has a very convenient hole in that corner for routing the cables through the floor (providing you cut a small section out of the HDD cage underneath, which I did). The front panel audio connector is back/left so the cable can be routed along the length of the graphics card, under its heatsink, and the rest of the connectors are all along the front edge. A refreshing change!

Edit: I almost forgot, does anyone know if you can buy angled fan brackets that attach to existing fan holes? I could do with 2 for the 80mm fans at the back so they point downwards at an angle. I remember years ago seeing rackmount server chassis with them fitted but I haven't seen any for sale individually. Any ideas?

I'm very impressed with this Nepton 240m. Even without the gasket and with a few mm gap between fans & radiator, it's efficient enough to keep the 4690k at stock volts in the very low 40's under load. :brrr:

Curious to see how it could handle more heat, I went for a simple, safe and gentle CPU overclock to stress the cooler a bit more. Nothing complicated, I just changed the multiplier to 43 and the CPU core voltage to 1.2v in the bios. Nothing else.

Here's the Afterburner graph after a Firestrike run. Max CPU temp 52C at 4.3GHz 1.2v vcore with "unsealed" fans on the rad. That'll do.

I may be back in the club next week. I've been meaning to tap into my cinema system with a stereo of some sort since I set it up. I think I might go the ITX route and build an audio rig, chucking my D2X in there.

I'm at a bit of a stumbling block. My h170i d3 won't play nice with my nvme Samsung boot disk so I have been a little discouraged.

I was thinking for now doing a direct transfer of my current evolv kit into the ncase so that would be.

    I5 6400t
    16gb ram
    980 gtx
    512gb 840 pro

I can then wait for the rx 470 / 480 itx options.

But as ever I'm two minded, I have sooooooo much kit I just need to clear out before I can really justify going shopping for any more stuff.

    Just to update this thread....

Currently rocking the FT03 Mini as some of you might have noticed. LOVE this case. Sure its not practical in terms of the size vs the hardware you can fit but my god is it a looker. Better in real life. My photo's don't do it justice.

PS: Anyone know how to make my image smaller using imgur? Mine are not scaling.

Click on the photo, then click edit. You can then type in a manual size :) You can do more than one at once as well.

Well, not more than one at once, it simply puts them in a queue.

Yup, the FT03 Mini sure is a nice looking case.

I'm joining the mITX club very shortly, just waiting a week or so to see what (if anything) happens to prices, then I'll be getting a motherboard and CPU and I'll be populating my M1.

Can I pick the brains of the mITX crowd, and in particular the M1 posse? I can't decide whether to go for a top-down blower cooler like the Noctua NH-L9i or to stick with a tower cooler (either the NH-U9S or NH-D9L). I'm also a bit unsure about the best setup in terms of fans - I was thinking about a 120mm intake on the bottom for the GPU, and a 120mm side intake for the CPU, with perhaps a 92mm rear exhaust, assuming a top-down cooler, or if using a tower then I was thinking of pointing it up/down and letting it exhaust out of the top of the case.

I appreciate that a small case is going to be trickier to keep cool (and quiet) than a big unit like my R3, so any tips would be gratefully received :D I'm not planning on using AIOs this time around.

Would not even bother with the 92mm at the back, air literally floods out the top if you have a couple of 120's on the side.

I'd personally go with a tower cooler pointing out the top if it was me and I wasn't using AIOs (which, by the way, I think is the best option)
