Other Just Bought a Google Nexus One

the nexus one is one gorgeous phone.

 

Indeed, hacks away to enable that for everyone. Kinda sucks though that Apple can control the market so much in that way in the US, but I couldn't be happier that we can have a nice HTC Dragon with multitouch.

 

There's already a few software mods out, and Cyanogen will be releasing a Nexus Cyano ROM as soon as Google posts up the 2.1 files.

 

What do people make of this then?

Is it going to be worth waiting until vodafone start subsidising it here? or will it be cheaper just buying it sim free and finding a good contract with no phone?

Wow that's good! I have been looking at the 3 one which is "unlimited" data, 300 mins and unlimited texts for £15, but that is a 1 month contract.

I really like the look of this phone, but also rather like the LePhone - seems a similarly awesome body but can have a physical keyboard added. Shame it hasn't come out yet!

Its good timing for me, they should be cheap on ebay just when I come to upgrade my Touch Diamond

 

The phone looks really good. I recently got a Droid and I love it. I can only imagine how fast the Nexus One is, since I read it has a 1 GHz processor; my Droid is closer to 550 MHz and it feels very fast. Since the phones both run the latest Android OS, I bet the Nexus One is the nicest, fastest phone on the market. Plus, new apps for Android are coming out every day.

 

I caved in and bought one unlocked (sick of orange, and sick of windows mobile), all I can say is wow! Super fast, beautiful and only about 100000000000000x better than my previous windows mobile ShoddySlowRubbish5.

 

Well, I would, but (a) I'm very poor until february and even then (b) you're my arch-nemesis, so I couldn't possibly give you the right advice once I knew

I presume you end up with a large quantity of foul tasting broth? I would say tasting something like Unicum (I've tried it, if someone offers you some stab them to death with a shoe).
