Anyone up for hitting up the trails in Swinley Forest (Berkshire)? It's really easy to get to from anywhere between London and Reading. Maybe a thread is in order...

S'even got a picatinny rail along the bottom. Those things sure have come a long way from the orange tipped plastic crap they were a few years back.

I have a new Evesham Zieo N500-HD on order

    17" WSXGA X-Bright Widescreen (1680 x 1050)
(1680 x 1050 is OK - but I was hoping they might offer a screen upgrade, to one which was capable of 1920 x 1200. Sadly not :()
Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2GHz (should handle any game I throw at it!)
    2GB [2x 1GB] DDR II [@ 667MHz] + 1GB Intel "Turbo Memory"
(The "Turbo Memory" apparently "works hand in hand with the DRAM to speed up large applications, multi-tasking and Vista boot times"? We'll see!)
512MB GeForce 8600M GT (DirectX 10 and seamless gaming here I come :hip: )
    160GB SATA
    Multi Format Dual Layer DVD±RW
    Built-in audio and speakers
    Built-in 1.3MP webcam
    Built-in card reader (SD/MMC/MS)
Digital TV Tuner - with RC
    802.11n wireless capability! (the latest/fastest)
6-cell Li-Ion battery ("up to 2 hours". Yeah... right! I fully expect <1hr when gaming!)
**** HDMI port! (so I can hook it up to my HDTV :cooldude: )
    ** Express card slot!

The sad news is, that... the day after I'd ordered it (24th May)... I received an email from them, to say they were having trouble sourcing the Intel wireless card for it  :eyebrow:

It could subsequently be the 13th June before they can source it... and it then takes up to 9 days for the build!
But I'm apparently in a "queue", in which the systems are built according to the date they were ordered,
so I'm potentially looking at another 3 weeks - 1 month at least before I receive my new laptop  :wallbash: :waah:

I'm not convinced that long a wait is acceptable to be honest, but I'm waiting for them to get back to me with answers I've emailed to their support section,
before I decide whether to go ahead with it, or cancel the order, and get one from somebody else (i.e. HP/Rock Direct) :sigh:

I'll give you one thing hazardous, when you buy things, you buy them proper!

But couldn't you have bought a 9 cell battery?

This was in the other week. It's BIG! but massively functional. Great for a media centre laptop. Expect something like 30 minutes when gaming.
