    Damn, I'm enjoying this game!

My usual fare is of an FPS variety, so this is a very pleasant change.

It's Ocarina Of Time - with extra demons. :D

I was going to ask about The Witcher, is it worth playing? I seem to remember hearing it was a bit like an FPS/RPG?

nah, the witcher is an RPG through and through, and I'd highly reccomend it. If you liked dragon age or some of the older Bioware games, it's pretty much a must.

The Witcher is a great RPG but has arcade-like combat which has put some people off.

If you are going to buy a copy, I'd strongly recommend the physical version - the Enhanced Platinum edition has a sumptuous range of extras (2 music CDs, making-of DVD, paper map, 3 manuals), is dirt cheap (£10.99 at time of posting) for what you get and (once you apply the 1.5 patch which removes the disk check) is DRM-free too.

Doesn't the Enhanced Platinum Edition already come with the 1.5 patch applied?

My copy had the 1.4 update (which provides the Platinum Edition goodies for those owning the original release) but the 1.5 patch was released later and adds a few adventures as well as disabling the Tages media check and fixing EAX problems.

Yeah The Witcher divides people. The combat is more involved than say Diablo II but it isn't as immediately engaging, and the world is nowhere near as engaging as Morrowind or Baldur's Gate. The combat system seems tacked on. Basically if you are a big fan of RPG's and you have no other major releases to play through then yeah it'll fill that gap, otherwise you're not missing a great deal.

As a sometime RPG fan (mostly RTS and FPS fan) I found it lacking but for a fan of the genre it'll be a good purchase.

I'm guessing F1 2010 isn't worth £14.99 and we should wait for a better deal on Steam.

    Does this sound right?

Weird one this. I think you'll get your moneys worth - I got it full price and still play it, but if it was cheaper maybe I'd play it less.

If you want to spend a tenner and be delighted get Elbow's new album.

This is one you download through Steam? What's the 20% code, if you don't mind me asking?
