Me thinks these hurricanes destroy any homes they wish. They level soild brick house but leave some wooden ones standing... Just like Tornadoes. Many we got weird weather here in the states... Oh well glad i live in AZ.. again. And again Best of Luck to all the unlucky east coasters... Mr.Biggs&IvAn2740 2900 miles <~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That way =P
<drums> run for your liiiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIfffffffe! Sorry, couldn't resist bursting into Iron Maiden there Can anyone tell I'm bored at work? Sam
Man that's not so nice Dad We've never had any storm here in Belgium (Europe). I hope you and you're family and your pets and your house will be okay! Oh, and your electricity and internetconnection!!!
Hahaha.... Yea, no kidding... Update: Isabel's strength has lessened to 105mph winds (~169kph), but still pretty strong. The projected path has also shifted a bit west of the initial path.
Another good thing is the pressure is going back up. The lower the pressure the more damage the storm can do. Just watch out for those tornados and hope you all stay safe.
i heard about it on news today but bit tech got story first take care all those living out there who knows its path might change keep us updated with pics and video clips if you can
You have really crappy weather... lots of earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.... And you still build houses out of wood and drywall!
well, the US is a big freaking country! It only makes sense that there will be lots of natural disasters it in. Edit: and there is a castle in my state made of stone!
Right now as I type we are getting the feeder bands from the hurricane the wind haspicked up alot, and it's what 500 or so from my house. I was out by the ocean today and the waves gotta be at least 10-12 feet great for surfing, but gotta watch out for rip currents.
acctually it was said the storm is downgrading as it moves...it will be something when it hits but not as bad as we predicted
We don't usually get REAL serious weather in the North East. But we do get slammed with snow in the winter!
Yup, same here. 2 years ago my area (central NY) tied the record for the annual snowfall at 193". Back in '93 in the Blizzard of '93 (go figure), we got 5' in about 18 hours. God I love lake effect snows! Well, they've updated our friend Isabel. In the pic below, the gold color represents possable hurricane strength winds (at least 74mph winds)... Here's Isabel up-close and personal... You can see that the eye isn't as defined as it was which is a good sign. That means that it's weakening. If it hits hard around here, I'll take a few pics and maybe a quicktime movie durring it with my camera.
