Well assuming you are planning on making the same fanbus, you will need about 10" per led and per knob. (20 LEDs, 2 knobs). The exact amount will depend on how you layout the circuit. I generally just buy it in 10m lengths and cut off what I need.

Thanks a lot. Is there any specific diameter that is preferred?

The stuff used in Macro Black had a core diameter of 1mm. I don't recommend you going any thicker if you are going to use it on 3mm LEDs.

    Hey Macro,
I bow my head to this mod!

As far as I read this thread you didn't tell yet where you got the lighted knods from, maybe I just overread to.

I'm searching for this kind of knobs myself.. - Please advise

    Tanks,
    Mac

I just want to know how to make the circuit to light one color for normal and another for harddrive activity.

PLEASE tell us this one, or let me buy one off you.

I like that mod very much and want to incorporate it into my project.

This case brought me to the forums, and made me a regular reader of your site as well.

How long until the info on the rheobus, macroman?

I am going to build a case VERY similar to yours (if it's not broke don't fix it!) except for changing out the biohazard logo's for Quake 3 logo's if I can make a kewl Q3 fan grill.

    Excellent mod man!

Thanks and welcome to the board.

I hope to start rolling out the fanbus in the next week or so.

yep, I second that, my case would look crappy if it wasn't for him and this furom.
On the other hand, I'd have saved some money then
Anyway, looking forward to the baybus report!

BTW Mods: it's about time you get a  smily!!

    Cheers,
    Mac

Aw man, I am having a hell of a time finding any chrome window tinting. All of the places near me have this "Limo tint" brand crap that is static cling, and it is all black. I also can't find any place online that sells it. They all write back saying the best they can do for chrome is black that has metal flakes to block out UV light, but it is just shiny black, not chrome. Has anyone else had any luck finding the window tinting products for this mod? The best bet would be online I would assume, but even somewhere near Eau Claire, WI would be sweet. Also if anyone can get some easily and cheaply it would be cool if I could buy some from you. Thanks alot for any help I can get :D

Yea, same here. I don't know which to buy....If someone could direct me to an online store that sells the same one that Macroman used and that ships to the US, I'd be really glad.:p

    fanbus

hi, i'm new to the forums, enticed to participate like many others by macroBlack. Excellent work.. I'm looking forward to the next update on fanbuses. I'm curious as to how to set up a matrix orbital GPO to trigger a fan to go the full 12V. When the GPO is not active, the fan spins at around 7V (or whatever the rheostat is set at)?

I'd also like to monitor the temps of my video heatsink as well as my northbridge heatsink. Is there a way to setup a thermister to take these measurements and feed them to the computer? I don't want to use DigitalDoc because i want to set up a Matrix Orbital VFD..

    Thanks.

Okay...LOVE MACRO BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cry everytime I see it knowing that I will never mod as good as that...:cries: Well, anyways. Can anyone post the exact sized pics he used of the biohazard pic? The one he used on both sides and for the Hdd or whatever it's called. I don't want to have to resize them myself knowing that I'll probably mess it all up....well, would anyone mind posting these? I'd prefer macroman doing it himself knowing he did it himself and that he is da man......(it's in his name) Well, I bow down to your greatness....
