In a coma for a Week? Respawn delay is set too long in RL - Server Admin, please change! Get well soon bud! We should get Dave Prowse to deliver the cheesecake. For those who don't know what I'm on about-:
Damn, just been shown this from burnout, hope you get well soon buddy, you must be well on your way asking (and letting) your girlfriend use your computer Place isn't the same without you...
+1 Genius idea, provided he has the age to get the joke. C'Mon CPC staff!!! Surely someone there has enough influence/contacts to make this happen.
May be more of a lurker than a poster, but it's a shame to hear about these things. Goes to show from the level of support what an awesome community BT is. Get well soon dude!
is it wrong to deliver the cheesecake via bus? It would be awesome to hire a big red Routemaster, and everyone who can from here come along with a cheesecake, and we all hand deliver cheesecakes
Hello bit-techers.. I've been given a precious 10 mins on the PC in hospital, so I though I'd come say howdy. And yes, this is the real, the original, the supposedly ginger Mankz, the one who utterly dominated the number 7 bus. Many thanks for the kinds words, its very much appreciated. First of all, can I just say i've done plenty of damage to myself in the past, hell Ive got bionic wrists, but never ever ever break your ribs/sternum. Its just horrible. Breathing hurts like nothing ive ever done before and I still haven't spoken properly since it happened just because of the stupid pain. Otherwise, im pretty much okay.. I've now got a nice scar on my chest when they've replaced my sternum with some titanium and ripped out my spleen, but im just glad my head seems okay... I can still come up with dirty thoughts, and do the occasional bit of work, so all seems good. But dear god I was lucky.. One minute I was crossing the road, the next it was 9 days later and I was in a cosy hospital bed. Anyway, Im off to enjoy some lasagne and an afternoon of drug induced painless bliss. Hopefully I'll be back so my usual self soon. Thanks for the support.
Damn, nice to see you are up and running. 9 days is hell of a downtime but seeing they made some upgrades at the same time you should overclock much better. Get well soon. this place aint the same without you!
Only 10 minutes?!? Treatment on the NHS is worse than I thought... What has NICE got to say about that? Well, you sound and type coherent so that's good. Your statements display appropriate social awareness (which, given that it's you, is saying something) and theory of mind, inhibitory functions (i.e. you don't ramble), logical coherence, memory recall; good grammar and semantics. So your higher functions seem at first glance OK. Lucky. Given that you were comatose for 9 days I'd say you should have had a severe brain injury. The kind that usually leaves people with some lasting motor and cognitive damage. Like I said: very lucky. Nevertheless don't be surprised as you start to resume normal daily life functioning that there may be some highter cognitive problems showing up. Most will be transient. You will also be very fatigued. Your sense of smell and taste may be altered. Your voice may have changed --if so that is likely to be more permanent. Muscle wasting will have occured. Eat well and start working with those physios! And never mind the morphine; get yourself a broadband connection STAT!
