Why is a BMW more expensive than a Vauxhall?

More advanced chipset means more money has to be spent to get those features.

    Good analogy by Zinfandel :)

Uh-oh, Zinfandel's caught the analogy bug off Nexxo :p

More expensive boards will usually offer more USB ports/PCIe slots/SATA headers as well as using more complex, costly and feature rich chipsets and often higher grade capacitors/MOSFETs etc.

To your average maple joe both boards do the job equally well, but to an enthusiast missing certain features will be painful in the long run.

Yes but the speed of your PC is governed by the physical limits of the parts it is built with, not legislation.

You're also assuming that only only measure of quality is speed, which it isn't. But even if it was, you could always take your car to the track.

Dammit, this analogy crap has gone TOO FAR! It's all Nexxo's fault :(.

BMWs are generally nicer to drive, look at and live with than Vauxhalls. They are also reputedly more reliable and easier to tune. Although I'd still give my right bollock for a low-mileage Lotus Carlton fitted with a flammenwerfer to keep those pesky chavs at bay

You can't overclock a G530. You can overclock an E6400 but it's from before I got into computers so no idea on how to overclock it sorry lol

ITX will fit in any modern case. It might be a bit small for your needs but it'll fit.

No, it's not faster than your G530. Clock for clock I'd say the Celeron probably just has the edge due to improved architecture.

Overclock it to 2.4GHz with a FSB bump up to 300MHz and a little extra voltage, try to keep it under 60 degrees and it'll serve you well.
