Im being helpful.. Im greifing the maps 8)


EDIT: Teamspeak 3 is online.

 

Currently installing php and mysql then gamepanel install and then I will need to re-create Xm's game account and send him new details. We should be up by this after noon providing php installs ok.

It's a pain on windows.

 

All done, need a chat with XM for some mysql tables for his plugins.

So come ts3 when you get this XM

Since Votick(Chris) Is sleeping I thought I'd do a little update on the progression of the server.

RED - Not done
ORANGE - In Progress / Half done
GREEN - Done

  Back up files (mysql corrupted, data lost)
  Remove ubuntu
  Install windows server 2008
  Install updates
  Install exchange
  Install teamspeak 3
  Install IIS7
  Install gamepanel
  Install mysql
  Install phpmyadmin
  Install php
  Install other necessary files
  Restore files
  Configure exchange email (took a while)
  Recreate mysql databases
  Attempt to recover mysql data
  Everything else needed that i've forgotton about
  
  Install Minecraft Server1-Creative
  Install Minecraft Server2-Survival
  Install Minecraft Server3-SattaCraft
  Configure Hawkeye on 1+2
  Test plugins on 1+2
  Install other servers
  
  Turn on Server 1
  Turn on Server 3
  Turn on Server 2 (awaiting on XM for SQL data)
  
  Turn on other servers
  Sleep
  Notify players that this was actually occuring and we hadnt run off with their money!

The servers will be on tomorrow, if it all goes well.
With the installation of exchange we can easily be contacted incase the server crashes or their is any other problem (faster than Posting on the forums), so we encourage you to contact us this way:

Cool, I'll try and get on there this evening but I've been having trouble connecting over the last couple of weeks.

 

Changed minecraft_server.jar to run on java.exe rather than javaw.exe

Gone from 100% CPU usage to hardly anything.

Can't test if the server is ok so if someone could let me know

 

So far it's running smoothly at my end.

 

I fell in to some ones monster spawner, I don't think I damaged any thing but it scared the hell out of me.. who ever it belonged too we have talked about it before when it was being built. it's the one near my main house beside the mountain.

 

Can't log in. Keeps saying log in took too long.

 

Is there something global going on in the mincraft world? Seems I can't connect to any server I've tried. Reset my router back to factor, reset every thing configured it all. Every thing else I use seems to work fine.

 

It seems to be a problem with the login-server(s)

So... today was a bad day to finally decide to buy minecraft?

Also I just noticed that 25% of my cpu (at 100% clock speed) is used by javaw.exe
Apparently it's java environment (which I had to install to run minecraft). Anyone have a guide to slim this back?

Here's the difference from having the menu screen open, then closing it:
(i5 2500k btw)

 

Minecraft is written in Java and runs under the java environment. High CPU usage from javaw while running Minecraft is pretty normal, though I'm not sure if it's normal for it to be quite as high as in your screenshots.

It's long been a bone of contention in the MC community, with many people calling for MC to be rewritten in C/C++ for efficiency since Java just doesn't seem to be ideal for MC's processing demands and disk-access.
I can't see such a rewrite ever occurring regardless of the benefits, since:
- Java is clearly Notch's language of choice
- Rewriting Minecraft in C/C++ would be a huge amount of work
- It would no longer be possible (or at least simple) to run MC in a browser
- It would necessitate releasing platform-specific versions of MC for Windows, Mac & Linux instead of just releasing a platform-agnostic java archive and simple launcher.

So, that means for the foreseeable future we just have to put up with the high CPU usage and the shortcomings of Java. I don't know if there's anything to be done in your specific case, but I recall seeing very high CPU usage during MC on my laptop.
