to the person whose house i was blown up outside, i do apologise and i think ive repaird the damage ( ive put the doors back on and the glass into place anyhow...

it went dark shortly after that so i ran back to my dirt block and had a little cry while all the zombies were outside

but i found some wood that i used to make the first tools ive managed to own ( a stone pick and sword )

Didn't manage to get on hardly at all last week with my power going out early in the week and then people giving me last minute jobs to do.

I will be on tonight from around 7:30-8:00pm for 2-3 hours though.

On a side note, anyone know of a good location for stocking up on clay on the server?

They are scattered around in shallow water.

There seemed to be some big lag spikes last night, I had creepers teleporting all over the place outside my house.

    Thanks JR. :)

Managed to pick up one and a half stacks of Clay last night.
I think I'll have to do quick hunt next time I get on for a large shallow lake as I've worked out that I need to gather roughly 640 clay blocks to get enough for my brick house.

I downloaded the Feed The Beast launcher last night, just need to download the normal Minecraft launcher tonight if I get time to after doing some raids etc on Destiny.

Last night XM was on the server for a little while
    - and he found the (most likely) reason for the lag
    - so now he can talk to the right people, and maybe get it fixed?

That's excellent if the source of the lag has been identified.
Hopefully we can get it fixed in-time for possibly arranging an in-game Christmas event?

Any major differences between Feed the Beast and ATLauncher?

Well we definitely need to build & decorate a Christmas tree.

I'm thinking a festive treasure hunt could also be quite fun, it wouldn't be too hard or disruptive to scatter snowmen around the map with a chest and instructions inside them.

..home alone.. (except for 3 kids - all asleep)
    and in the server alone.

    Where has everyone gone?
(I know where JR is - but where's everyone else?)

I've been a bit weighed down by work with all of the end of year preparations, I should be able to relax and get on again after this week's reports are out of the way.

Got a FTB Unleashed server set up over the weekend on my pc, as my brother in law bought Minecraft and asked me about it.

Tried getting him to join my server, but I ended up running in to a few issues when I wanted to add Rei's Mini map as it just crashed the server, so I need to look in to it.

Not been on the Bit-Tech server for a while but will try and get on abit more soon.

I was wondering.. what is the current server's specs? I think I may have to upgrade some parts of my spare PC..
    current specs:
    MOBO: EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1
GPU: EVGA GTS 250 (unsure of the exact info)
RAM: DDR2 2GB (Need to upgrade to at least 6 or maybe 8)
    PROCESSOR: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz Q6600

The reason I am asking is because I'm interested in converting the said PC into a minecraft server.. It'll be Super private.. open to selected people that I know.

Spec looks fine. If that motherboard has an integrated GPU - and you're not playing the game on the same machine (which is NOT recommended) - then you can lose the dedicated GPU. You don't need it - it'll just sit there sucking power, getting warm and running its fan. RAM should be fine for a vanilla server, but you probably don't want more than 5-10 players. If you want bukkit plugins or forge mods then you'll probably want to think about a bit more RAM - 2GB might be ok for a few light bukkit plugins, as long as you don't go over 5 players, but if you're looking at Forge mods you'll DEFINITELY want more. Depending on how large your worlds become, an SSD might be a wise choice - players will complain about lag if worlds don't load from the HDD quick enough. A 64GB drive should do fine though - all it needs is the OS and minecraft server/worlds, you can offload backups onto a spinning rust disk.
