Oh Thomas making the old appeal to authority fallacy whilst believing himself to be intellectually superior, the irony of which I am sure escapes him.

I enjoy a really good religious argument, but tbh I am really good at it too.

 

Being an Atheist, I like to ask the important questions about religion.

For example, how come Adam and Eve have belly buttons in EVERY painting or depiction of them? Weren't they simply created by god? You only have a belly button if you have an umbilical cord...

 

The frame of reference for the artist is always people with belly buttons. These painting weren't created during the lifetime of adam and eve, they didn't pose for the artist. If there were paintings of adam and eve without belly buttons it would no more prove their existence than a painting with belly buttons demonstrates its just a story.

 

That would be a really poor argument for the non existence of two such people however as a painting of Adam and Eve does not equal real depiction Adam and Eve, just as painting them without belly buttons would suddenly make it all the more believable. There are so many better ones.

There is evil in the world and god doesn't interfere because it would oppose the idea of free will and yet people pray and believe that god interferes in their life after they pray. Huge contradiction.

Also if God exists then so does the devil according to the bible and he would definitely be sure of who god is and his power and yet the devil still maintained his free even though he knew god exists and was be able to turn away from him.

As such the whole free will argument for god allowing evil is defeated without even having to move away from the bible.

 

I didn't mean to incite an argument nor did I make it as an argument. I just think it's funny XD
