I was just trying to make life easy. Obviously you're own design of grill would look best, but if you can just cut it yourself, I don't think people would say, "Hmm, could have done with a better grill there mate", if you know what I mean.

I think I'd go with some nice laser cut grills.

The hdd meter in between the fans is nice. I think red would be better than blue.. since the LED fans will doubtless be blue.

I can't get laser cut grills here in Estonia:sigh:

EDIT: I will have two fans blowing air out in the back too. Don't you think it would be kinda funny that the HDD LEDs would be the only red in this much blue?:eyebrow:

Holes, I'm definately going with holes. I forgot to mention that I bought some plexiglass cutting blades for my jigsaw and i should get some plexi this week.

I'd go with a series of holes.

    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O
    O O O O O O O O

Ok. That wasn't entirely necessary

I just got back from trying mctoby's idea with the acetone. Guess i'll have to wait 24 hours now.

EDIT: The plexi chips seem to have started melting now...

EDIT2: Yeah, I think it's working, the acetone is getting thicker already. PS! I'm storeing the glue in a closed jar. I opened the jar to check for 3 seconds, and now I'm SOOOO dizzy, those acetone fumes are tough:nono:

I havent finnished reading this whole post but have seen where people sugested to use acetone
let me be clear about this "NEVER USE ACETONE ON ACRYLIC"
you can get some weldon or comstik from a sign shop for a few dollars and this is the correct way to do this. if you are gonna do this do it right you dont cut corners on something so cheap as glue when it is easy to get anywhere

I have a funny feeling that the glue won't be strong enough. At least that's what the first tests have shown...

Clearcaseman, what is the correct solvent to dissolve the acrylic chips in to make adhesive? As it was discussed earlier, Miku is having serious problems in finding proper adhesive, as he is in Estonia. I'm sure he would appreciate your input.

I do not remember the 2 chemicals you can mix to make acrylic glue but they are harder to get than to get the glue itself. a hardware store can get "weldon" there lots of things to use but only a few give a decent look. try a hardware store if you do not have a sign shop around. you can also try a framing shop they may have some too

Yep, the dimensions are taken from a standard ATX case. It should look nice when it's finnished, just take your time while cutting/glueing to make sure it turns out as good as you have planned it!
