Maybe I'll do that. I'm not sure. I first want to see how it looks without the dye.

No.. I just took the drives apart and tried to copie the original drives

    And another small update

It isn't going as fast as I expected :eyebrow: I've been filing and sanding for the past days and the result is that I've completed 24 of the "connection-corners".

First drill some holes after the sanding was done:

After the drilling, I had to bend the plates:

It's time to put it all together with nice bolts:

Next I'm planning is to make the drive-bay.

    Untill next update.. :dremel:

Perhaps I'm putting two small (10cm) ccfl's at the bottom but I'm not sure yet.

I LOVE the custom CD-ROM/FDD housings, super nice. That's the only thing I don't like much about clear cases, is the CD-ROM and/or the FDD, because of the housings. This is definatly nice, that's a cool color you used too, is it UV reactive?

    disappointment

As I wanted to mount the drives, I saw that they weren't that straight as I thought they were :sigh: Then the DVD-ROM drive fell out of my hands and broke. :duh:

Because I had to make a new DVD-ROM drive, I'm also making the other drives again. A minor setback but now all the drives are gonna be straight (I hope  )

see you at the next update

    little update

After I'd broken the DVD-ROM drive, I made me a new one. I also made a new drive for the FDD and the fancontroller. This time I didn't bend them but put them together with glue. Here are the results:

    Housing FDD:

    Housing DVD-ROM:

    Housing fancontroller:

    All together now :D
    [IMG]

Now the frontpanel is the next victim. I've allready put some holes in it for the fancontroller:

The rest of the holes etc. you'll see at the next update..

I can't believe I didn't realize it before, but that design doesn't have 3 cubes. It has two cubes and a triangular cylinder in the middle. All you need is three equal-sized panels for it and the top cube will drop right in.

Although you could be right, I will be using a cube in the middle. The top plate of that cube will have a triangle cut out. In that I'll place the upper cube. :dremel:

    quick update

I had a little extra time and made some icecubes :naughty: They are attached at the bottom and will be the feet of the case.

Of course I want to have lights in them, so I drilled some holes for the leds.

For the wiring I copied the idea from Defyant (all credits to him  ) and sleeved them UV green.

Next time I hope the bottom cube is finnished. Untill next time :dremel:

I assembled most of the bottom cube so it's almost finished now  I only need to attach the UV green roundcables for the FDD and DVD and of course the powercables. But firts I'm gonna start on the middle cube.

Here some results of the bottom cube..

Nice. Sometimes plexi can be overdone, but I think your design is original and more like "art" than we normally see here. Nice concept. Subscribed... :D
