You're too good at modding, it's not allowed :p

    Thanks very much guys.

    That'd be awesome.

As far as modding goes, I still have a lot to learn. As far as woodworking goes, the learning curve is infinite. I can't compare myself to the people who can't even cut a piece of wood because that'd just not be fair. I have to compare myself to the true wood masters (nor Norm), the people who can take a tree and turn it into a door or chair or table only using hand tools (power tools are not hand tools) and by comparing myself to these people, I am really at the very very bottom and I've barely just started to scratch the surface. Sorry, this was more a rambling of thoughts than an actual response. Thank you very much though. :D

Hey guys, i'm back... yet again... with another update. I finally finished the second shoji panel after a seemingly endless amount of f-ups (they weren't really bad but I take any screw up very seriously) but in the end it all turned out ok.

No explaining really, just some pictures:

    Second panel:

    Put that shiz together:

    Next step, woo.

Stay tuned, the end is near. So near in fact that later this week, the case will be shrouded in secrecy (well not really) until a later date. Never fear though, I have a new case (teaser's in this log) that will be up here in no time... although already pretty far a long, the style is a bit different.

    Thanks a lot everyone.

    Thanks man :D

I'll hopefully be working on that today. With any luck ( a lot of luck) i'll have the shoji done along with the front panel and the case will just need a few more touches and finish work.

@mvagusta: I'm not so sure about that but hey, that'd be an interesting experiment. :naughty:

Thank you TG, i'm using my Canon 400D for most of the the photography and I finally got a tripod so I can take decent shots when i'm working at night.:naughty:

Hey everyone, time for a nice big update.

First, I wanted to give the spruce a more 3d streamlined appearence since the new shoji design allowed this. The way to do this was to sand it... a lot:

    Rough sanded:

There are more pics of the sanded sides later in the update.

After a lot of finish sanding, I needed to glue the two main sides together... so i did.

    It fits!

Then it was time to finish (or at least start) the top shoji panel. To start off, i flipped it over and layed it out.

Then in the same fashion that i did the side panels I cut the shoji pieces to length and made the joints.

And here's where it is so far. A little more shoji to do, a bit of plexi work, finishing, and this baby is complete.

    Stay tuned for more :D

Thanks very much guys. I'll be taking a little over a week off on these projects to go home for a little while. In the mean time i'll be designing and picking out some paper for the panels in Berkeley. Stay tuned for that and when I get back, i'll be finishing this guy up

Ive become a great admirer of your work since ive joined these forums, your cases are works of Art as well as being highly functional cool computer cased :thumb:

Now I just wish I had the money for you to build me a case (oh well I can dream)

What would be your views on a wood and acyrlic case (say blue/green/ maybe even orange acrylic) would it work or do you think the materials would clash?
