Thanks very much. As far as the materials go, acrylic and wood go great together. Sangaku and Nakamura to some extent have that same combo. The only issue might be the color choices but i'm pretty sure you could make any of them work with a bit of creative design (ie integrating the color throughout the case to ensure it doesn't look out of place, even if its just in splashes) and the wood choice will be critical as well but that all depends on what kind of a look you are going for. And actually, Nakamura is for sale :D, I'm taking offers.

    That's exactly what i'd say. :D

Speaking of the next build. I have one more planned and started for a possible client but I am waiting for an official commitment before I work on it more. As for my next full custom case, i really have no idea what its going to looks like but I have a while to work on it as I'll be in Italy and not modding until the summer of '08. As for stone, we shall see but I wouldn't count on it because of how much it weighs. I might be reversing the role of wood/metal and making a juxtoposition of the two something like Yuugou but a much different style. We shall see.

    Oops! I didn't mean ALL stone! :D
Just adding something with a nice surface relief like chipped flint or beach weathered limestone. -as the accent pieces. I figure if anyone COULD pull it off, it would be you.

    We'll see :)

Hey guys, i'm not dead (and neither is the project). Right now I'm actually finishing the wood and it should be done early next week. I won't have any more updates or anything until the final update so stay tuned for that and as always, thanks for your support.

As always, looking at your mods, I am stunned!! :eeek: (in a very good way!)

The work you do is pure magic! I love your ideas and the finish you always achieve. I also like that you use traditional japanese wood working techniques... it's really cool... I can almost feel the fabric of a kimono against my skin, smell the freshly brewn tea.. and see my desk and the room transforming into a japanese garden reading your worklogs!

Need I say, I'm a great fan of your work!!!

Thanx for sharing, you have brought me great joy and inspriration!

PS. I'm sooo looking forward to your next project.. from the teaser pic it looks really sweet (I love the completely unique computer case design)!!

Domo arigato gozaimasu! (Thank you very much) *bowing* ^_^

    Edit: Almost forgot, 5 stars! ¤_¤ ¤_¤ ¤_~

These mods are just simply awesome.
I have never been a fan of wood in a pc case as the ones i have seen normally look really 'clunky' but i love the natural look you manage to acheive. :)

Not to be complaining, but the spruce looks way to thick.

The thick spruce is excellent, not too thick at all!

    a) It makes the case very strong so it lets him use thin detailed side panels instead of thick strong planks for side panels. Nothing wrong with thick sides, but what if you want to use intricate side panels instead? you use thick borders! The intricate wood grills are awesome btw!

    b) The thick spruce borders aren't plain pieces of 2 x 4, they are artistic curvy pieces with fancy joints, all done in the same style as the awesome side panels. The curves hide how thick they really are i think.

    c) for the dimensions of the case, the thickness suits beautifully i think! So regardless of the level of strength required, the thickness looks just right i think!

so yes, another loyal fan here patiently awaiting an update
