Bill you truly are a legend. The V8 is looking, well it's looking like a V8 lol.
I hate to say it, but what you're seeing on previous page has been scrapped, at least for Brian's project. It just consumed too much space, I neglected to measure how much space we had between MB and case window, I was caught up in the theme..lol
I'm now sculpting a mini version entirely of clay onto the cover of the cpu cooler.
Damn that sucks lol. Oh well, now you just have to make your own .
have a bubble window then
i cant wait to see your clay version.
Brian doesn't want a bubble or custom shroud of any kind on the window. The customer gets what they want!
hmmm, must think small , or more like pancakes
1/8 thick acrylic riser
manifold air intake hose made from plastic wire loom, heated and bent
roughly 3/16" tall manifolds made from modeling clay
Next up, making 12, intake pipes!
Excellent work Bill. Like a big model car kit. I'm waiting to see the intake tubes.
Did you guys catch the news article that the NHTSA ordered Ferrari to recall all the F430 Spider convertibles because the hydraulic hoses are too close to the engine and melt and leak fluid with smoke and fire.
I would be upset! These aren't $200 Yugos!
/end off topic
I am liking where this shroud is heading Bill.
It's a tough position I put Bill in I think. He and I both, didn't realize the size of the cooler in relationship to the remaining space in the case. Then, add a engine on top of that and, well, it becomes less about what to do and more about, how to do it with the little space left. I really like the window that's already there and didn't want to change it. So, I haven't made it easy on Bill.
Not to worry! I'm betting there is a couple or more model cars in his past. Smart young man and not afraid of trying, Good qualities.
Yet another cool project..
Bill, you have a great imagination.. You just keep coming up with unique (original) designs..
Thank you for the kind words guys!
@ John, ironically my bro-law was just telling about a doc he watched about the Ferrari factory and how "maniacal anal" Ferrari's quality control dept is about checking everything before the cars leave..heh
My "worm chorus line" is starting to morph in to intake pipes. The next step is applying more clay to join them to the manifolds. From there, acrylic primer, then a coat of silver "manifold" colored paint, then off to mnpctech's master painter, Brad Galvin to have intricate details like the Ferrari text on the red covers painted.
the pipes will be smoothed over with another application of clay.
i really love the V8 idea its great, great job with the clay.
Ya, this is looking really good. I knew Bill would come up with something awesome. Great job!!!
If everything goes as planned, it will be ready for paint by Tuesday, (crosses fingers)
a little more sanding, and it's ready for paint details
wow thats amazing!
I really like this Mod cause im a big Ferrari Fan and the engine looks really good
Thanks! I just laid down the first coat of sem self etching primer on the clay. So far, so good. This is the same product used on body fillers by autobody shops. I'll try and post a pic before it goes off to paint.
I'm thinking I might go with this board instead. The color scheme is right on for this case. It's a great preformer too!
That is a nice board but the single card performance is worse than the cheaper ASUS board. Not a problem if you are going SLI that is.
that MB will really fit this red case
