I think the general plan is going to be to get it up and running with a kind of working prototype, then maybe make a custom res which fits the bays a lot better.

Currently held up due to upgrading the w/c kit.

kna, I hope you don't mind...every since you first posted the vortex thing I've been working up a custom case based on it...Im currently trying to build it virtually in that software zap recommended until I move into my new shop next week.

Anyway, hope you don't mind me using the vortex? Mine will be called Storm or American Storm if I enter it into Maximum PC's competition and it will be a custom plexi case.

    OK?

I don't think you need to ask KNA for permission, as people have been doing these for quite a while. Though it was a nice thought.

now ive gotta think of a new res system for my comp. didnt realize KNA was doing his so soon.... hmmmmm.....

Shadowspawn, why not try a cylindrical case, with an extra transparent layer between which the water spirals down around the outside of the hardware. You would need quite a powerful pump, I should imagine. That would be pretty cool. /me daydreams again :blah:

Ok, slight change of tack.. I'm going to try to get the vortex working outside of the case so it's easier to play about with..

Little teaser before a write up tomorrow on the res.

Is it staying external? The first one was cool :)

It won't stay external, but it's easier to work on the vortex out of the case.. also I'm having some modding vs space issues, so cutting up aluminium isn't happening as often as I'd like. :)

the vortex (aka twister bong) isnt gonna cool very well on its own. you will need an evaporation chamber below your vortex chamber so the water can be cooled. the vortex is really a big, beautiful replacement for the showerhead in normal evaorative/bong coolers. it sprays the water into the evaporation chamber (the spray giving the water more surface area, incrasing the evaporation, which increases the cooling).

yes, i know this is my first post on these forums, but i am a regular at the oc-forums. you should read the thread by Pepsi (the master of the twister-bong) at oc-forums that was previously linked to.

    heres the link again: http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58781&perpage=30&pagenumber=1
