    Hey!
Here we go. my first ever case build.:dremel:
Decided use 5mm acrylic since i had sheet lying in the corner. going for a bulky look. and it will be open from the sides, (will be leavin the option for side panels), but now for ventilation they stay gone.

so here is the basic layout drawing.

ok got done with the jigsawing. there are two pieces on top of each other. The future legs and spacers holding them together for now.[IMG]

that is it for now. i am waiting for my unc 6-32 tap to arrive so i can tap the "mobo" mounting holes.
    Till next time fellows.

I was thinking of edging the acrylic with wood like edging tape. not sure yet because it was pretty hard to get clean looking trim. Here is a practice piece.

What do you guys think? I might want to get something a bit darker.

you could engrave a hundred tiny raspberries...if you were that bored? :D not sure on the tape. how about trying some dark wood like teak and glue on some tiny strips?

i was trying to get my hands on to some dark thin wood strips, but the local store had nothing in stock. i might just end up painting the edges if I'm not happy with the tape.
And with my engraving skills, ill will settle on some lettering, but more on that later.

Why would you buy a tap for mobo standoff in plastic?

Take a 2.5/3mm drill and you can screw the mobostandofs easely in! it taps his own thread :D

Tried that. But I kept having really bad results with it, having the standoffs leaning in one way or another. and the tapdrill will come in handy in future mods or builds. got the bug now:dremel:, just had to start from something small.

    small update

Hey guys. i decided to go with the edging tape. And it actually looks better when i did the whole edge than on the tryout piece.

Took me a while to trim it. Still a bit ruff but i'll do the finishing touch after i can remove all the protective tape.

I also did these for the led that I am thinkin of installing.
Just took 3 pin connector an cut it in half and trimmed it to be two single pins. led will be connected the GPIO.

Tried out to engrave some random letters too,
    [IMG]
obviously i need more training in that.:D
    Till the next time.
