CPU Reason my games crash to desktop

    Returning to amazon buddy, going back to a 7800x3d which I had no problems with whatsoever thanks

    Psu is fine buddy, new 1200w corsair, everything was fine with the 7800x3d...soon as I install the 9800x3d all goes tit's up

    You do a new install of windows with the CPU upgrade? Refresh drivers or anything? They're quite different CPUs, of windows thinks it's controlling a 7800x3d it will go tits up

    He tried to swap the CPU without completely removing the cooler, and not being able to fully open the retention bracket, in doing so he bent a pin backwards.

    Although whether that was putting the 9800x3d in, or swapping back to the 7800x3d is unknown. He was trying to run ram at 6600 on the 9800x3d, which is not gonna happen unless you landed a golden sample. Plus there's the shenanigans with 9800x3d not playing nice on ASRock boards, as recently reported by gn
