It´s time for a new log :thumb:....and too be honest, it´s almost too late, because we already started the building process a few days ago....but better now then never

The temporary name for it will be Ruko (which is japanese) and should just mean 6. Because it´s the sith variation of a shoji styled case we build.

This time we won´t use a lot of plexiglas, because it´s a commssioned build which should be build mostly out of wood. The Raw Frame for the case is already done and stained so that we now can continue with the details.

For the Right Side of the case (backside of the mainboard) we plan to build a multipart sidepanel which can be opened/closed by sliding the single pieces to the left or right side.
For that we already added a simple rail system to the raw frame. The Rails were build out of a square wood rod(thats the middle part) and 2 bigger wood bars for the outer side.

We also started to build a drive cage for 1 optical, 1 hdd and 2 ssd. It should look like a pagoda, so we first made the front and the backside of the drive cage and connected both parts with a few other wood pieces....

But enough of the words....here are the first pictures of it....

What a start, usually people just post a picture or two and then blab all day about the hardware they are going to put in.

I will subscribe, this thing needs to be watched.

thats a simple thing....we´re just modding all day long :dremel::D:thumb:

and thanks a lot for all your comments m8´s!!!!

In the last days we prepared the 3 plexiglas sidepanels with a few pieces of japanese rice paper ....as next step we will attach the Plexiglas/Rice Paper Panels to the Wood Panels.

Beside that we also cutted the Plexiglas for the Front into 3 Pieces so that we get no problems with the optical drive....beside that we will use one of the parts as drive cover so that the drive is invisible as long as it is closed :D

today we finished the other 2 parts of the 3 tiled sidepanel, beside that we also made a bit of progress on the front of the Case...we already cutted a few wood stripes and made a few grooves in them so that we could build a "mesh" out of them.....

    Time for another update

in the last few days we made the next layer of the Casetop, it will cover the wood layer where the radiator can be mounted. It´s just another sheet of plexiglas which we cutted to the right dimension and attached some rice paper. It will be mounted upon a few wood spacers which we already add to the wood layer....that way we get a small gap where the hot air could go through (already tried that on a similar case in the past, and it works really good for 2 years now)

Upon the plexiglas/rice paper layer we put another shoji wood mesh which we prepared in the next step.

Today we put the first white leds for a quick test into the case...so that we could see how it will look with lights on and if the silhouette from the drive cage will be visible in the front....:thumb:

    thx m8´s!

in the last days we started the building process of the reservoir, when it´s finished it will be placed upon the drive cage. For the inside of the Reservoir we just prepared a little Plexiglas Dragon which should match our theme real good....
