As for letterboxing, on a screen with decent black depth you won't notice the black bars, because they're - you guessed it - black. edit- for those baffled as to Steve's possible motivations for continually arguing this point so vehemently, see post-purchase rationalization. My guess is he just has a 1920*1080 monitor and has been ribbed by someone at some point for having chosen the one with lower fields of view.
