The good thing about having a removable MB tray is if you need to work on it you can just take it out. here you can see what I think was the culprit. Don't think the HD like being upside down. I know it looks like a mess but It will be tidied up. :| Not sure if I showed this to you or not. I have this slot for the SATA cables and the Power switch and HD activity LED cables. If I had a SATA DVD I would be set. Unfortunatly I am not made of money. here I have it up and running defragging I also added these temporary feet to the case. I want to do something similar in plex but smaller. I want it up high enough to project a light around the case. I was thinking of directing some LEDs to create a Red pentagram around it. naughty These are just wood ones painted red. Goes well with my room too.
Well I added a couple of pics of me hooking it up and testing it. Glad to hear about that Hyper PSU. I think that Shiny red one would look great in there. Plus it being modular would help with all the cable clutter. One question about it. Does it have caps for when you don't use a cable?
Oddly mine didn't come with caps. But every unit i've seen in a project log has. Not a problem for me, since I use them all
Hey Sheldog, I am not sure if it is me or not, but only about half the images are showing up in the thread. The last couple posts don't have any images. Anyone else getting this when they look at the project log. MatrixOps
wow, that looks soooo damn sweet! i havent had a look at this project since it was in the planning stages, and damnnnn its progressed! thats one of hte sweetest cubes ive seen in a long time! keep up the sweet work!
I was messing around a bit with LED's and a made a little light puck. and I stuck it inside the slim line acrylic holder. You won't be able to see anything but the glow when the MB tray is pushed up but I like it anyways. My main objective was to get the DVD slot to glow. Thats all for now
Not gonna happen. I generally don't like CCFL's, but especially red. Since they never are red. The whole thing will be lit with LED's. I also want a sort of ambient red glow with lots of cool shadows. Not a bright glowing red box that you can see everything clearly in a wash of red. I am trying to create a mood.
Last night I worked pretty late getting the cube presentable for the LAN. I added the window accent lights and put the mesh in. I still need to make a lit plex border for the front fans but I didn't have time last night. So I closed her up.. ..and turned her on. as you can see the two front fans pretty much dissapear. from above. large detail shot of above here
red cathodes look cack, always pink and half the time get dull and boring.... LED's ***! the red looks sooooooo sweet... it just flows and looks good i reckon you should get a fatal1ty vga cooler (zalman) for the x1800 you got there.. would look sweet! as it would match the fatal1ty cpu cooler you got!
i agree with customholle i need to change av, and have been trying to for quite some time, but it just wont let me, always says image is to big (its kinda hard to get under the kb limit)
I actually thought of that but I have heard several people comlain that the fatality coolers don't cool XT's well, Especially XTPE's. I think I am just going to add LED's to the stock cooler.
....balls to that, they are hoooge copper mofo's which im sure kick the crap out of the stock 'sink - then again, i may be wrong! keep up the pimping
Just for you frodo I got Zalman to send me one of the Fatality coolers. So we can end this debate once and for all. Course it won't stay long because the DD block is on its way too.
