Less than 10,000 slots left for the Alpha. If you want in, pledge soon! Doesn't look like it'll be expanded again (there was a stretch goal that added a whole pile of slots).

You say soon, but its been dropping by about a thousand a month :p Although I bet there will be a surge when the DFM is released.

Well considering the stretch goal adding 50k slots was the $25m mark, which was hit back in October, that's more like 10,000 slots a month disappearing (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan).

Its a good idea to split it like that, though they could have kept Wingman's Hangar on fridays (perfectly timed for when I got home)

Most people have already pledged to it now is why the slowdown. That and a lack of movement on the first playable bit has delayed would be buyers. Not been a new ship to pledge for recently either. Each new ship boosted there pledge amounts a lot.

Alpha will sell out fast if the dogfighting module gets good user reviews.

Thats what they're doing I expect, polishing it as much as they can so they can say 'Sorry about the delay, but you're going to love this!' kind of thing :) I bet those alpha slots will dry up fast when the DFM drops

Yuck. That's what I was worried they were going to do - hold the DFM until they have a nice PR opportunity to release it (PAX East). Means they'll have delayed it by over three months by that point :(

Still, nice to have a date.

Well, that is assuming it's finished and in a good enough state for release earlier than that, which I suspect it won't be. Fine by me though, PR = more wonga = more content

That's the thing, PR doesn't mean more money as they're not courting publishers as is the normal mechanism. They've already gotten over $38m in funding from backers, which will no doubt be higher by April. In my mind they should be releasing to their backers at the same time as the press, not releasing to the press first and then giving backers sloppy seconds a week or two later...because those backers paid for the game in its entirety!

The three month delay is something I can live with, if it was entirely for polish and improvement. However, the fact that it is being launched at a media event is a bit suspect - it'll probably be 'ready' for several weeks beforehand, and held artificially.

I'll be happy to play the DFM mind, and fingers crossed it expands to multiplayer quickly.
