Anyone else hoping that all the world leaders are going to announce today that Corona virus was simply the most elaborate April Fools ever?

:( I could have been selling Gadsden flag masks that said, "Don't breathe on me." My timing is awful.

My 94 yo grand-father is a resident in a nursing home which is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a hospital. Yesterday, I've learnt that there are 4 cases on his floor. Apparently, a nurse from the ER got transferred about a week ago and, unknowingly, contaminated elders. The place has been in lockdown since the 18th March so nobody can visit him. If he gets contaminated, he'll be alone... this is a ****ing nightmare.

Here, the opposition wants to loan their best economist to the government to work on the stimulus plan. This is unheard-of.

Just watched the daily update, I haven't seen the avoidance of answering questions perfomed with such aplomb since, well, yesterday.

They are concerned in the uptake in traffic Friday then dropped the weekend and then increased Monday. I wonder why that is. A lot of people can't work from home especially non essential manufacturing.

last friday of the month... followed by the last working day(s) of the month...

...or as most people will know it... pay day.

So i'd probably chalk some of it up to that, people just got paid and went shopping.

    Yup.

Plus they roped in thousands of former staff who will need to get to work, you know, to fill the posts currently vacated by Doctors and nurses that are sat at home untested.

Mind you, until they give them protective gear it's a game of russian roulette I don't envy.

Trump hates Obama so much that he's ready to let thousands of his people die just because his name is not on the front door.

Mind you wasn't Trump ranting on the other day about his corona virus briefings having better ratings than the Bachelor?

He and Boris should do a modern remake of Dumb & Dumber.

They should do a remake of the last scene of Thelma & Louise.

Shame we needed to be TOLD how to behave..but whatever. I aint too worried about corona in the long run. I am worried about what comes after. You think life is gonna go back to normal? Nope. Get used to **** my friends. This was the warm up. Give up some freedoms..don't expect them back again.

To me it seems like they are at different points on a similar curve. I think it's fairly clear that just in the last few days someone finally got through to Trump exactly how many people will die (and probably moreover what his legacy will be) if they continued to ignore expert's advice. A similar thing seemed to happen with Johnson around the time of the sudden about turn on herd immunity and only isolating the vulnerable. In both cases it was a costly delay that was bought about by their entrenched ideals.

Hey at least Boris thinks this will be a long haul thing, Trump apparently thinks this will all be over in two weeks. When i heard Trump say we're in for a rough two weeks my mind boggled.

This is the closest Trump has been to reality since the whole thing started. He's just off by a few months.
