Haha, that would be epic cooling overkill. I'll have to ponder on this for a bit...

*looks at Bill with a smile* Yeah, Bill...imagine a triple 140 grill with these! I totally didn't think about this right off the bat and have been bugging him constantly about it, ya know... ;)

    Thanks, mate!

To heck with the rules on what is or is not; just do it! :D

    +1!

    Heh heh heh...

We would have to scale them down on a single mounting plate, like we did on the SG05 bezel shown here. Otherwise the single Overkill grills are too big..heh.. Anyways, you know where to fine me when you want one :D

    Oct. 18th Small Update!

    Heh heh heh. ;)

    ------------------------------

Update time! Here's a little morsel to chew on for a bit.

You know, one of the frustratingly-bonehead things we discovered about this lil' chassis? Silverstone didn't put any bloody case feet on it! What the..?! Why?! It's not that hard. Come on, guys. Vibrational transfer, etc. just seems like a good enough reason to have some, ya know? Or even preventing the chassis from scratching up your desk or something, lol.

Oh well. We picked up a small package of I believe StarTech-brand cheapy rubber stick-on case feet. They'll do the trick just fine.

I'm finishing up on the PSU modification as well. Make sure you have your screws handy when doing so. ;)

Finishing up on the final layer of rust application to the side panel grill. So sexy.

As well as finishing up on the front panel plate's rusting. So realistic! We were stoked.

    More soon!

Most excellent. I approve a lot.

There is some stuff called Rustall that the model car builders use too. It would work on the plastic fan?

    http://www.rustall.com/

    Keep going, this is neat.

    Glad you like it John!

The sophisticated finishes product works on plastic as well. You sand & prep surface first, apply spray paint primer coat, then use their Metallic surfacer as base coat before applying their Instant Rust solution. You could dismantle a fan and follow the same procedure as E.E.L. illustrates in this video

    Oct. 19th Update

Here we are again; another update.

    Let's get to it.

Last we left off, the front plate was rounding third base. Now, Bill's putting some final touches on the shell's rust application before the side grill installation.

The hell am I looking at?!

Next we have Bill working on the chassis itself. You can see the finished PSU installed already.

The cool thing about this stuff is you can continue to layer different applications as much as you want. Yes, there will be some buildup with it, but it looks so cool.

Bill was keeping in with the look of authenticity by installing the PCI slot covers and then hitting those screws with the rust application. This looks the most realistic, unfortunately it may be difficult to install any PCI expansion peripherals! :hehe:

Bill's installing the side grill onto the shell itself, along with the mesh.

I weathered up the scrap mesh with some holes here and there that are strategically placed so you see them inside the counters on the acrylic grill itself to give it a more detailed layered look. It worked pretty well!

Don't worry; it'll look a lot better than this mustardy look really soon... It's coming!

    Moar coming!!!1

    You guys are sick!
Admittedly, not as sick as Cheaps [and he's the only one to blame for that] (haven't blamed you in a while, Cheaps... sorry 'bout that :p) but sick.

    Oct. 20th Update

Alright, keeping the momentum going, here's another update!

Bill and I continue to assemble the chassis and get things to come together like a good little case should. :)

Bill's finishing up on final assembly of the chassis insides.

If you scroll down with these pics really fast, it's alsmost like a movie! :hehe:
