Ferrari form looks horrid, with both Force India cars ahead after FP3. The smart part of me knows the championship is Vettel's, but I can't help but hope for a DNF for Vettel, P1 for Webber/Massa/Button, podium for MSC and WDC win for Alonso.

EDIT: JB has Lewis convincingly beat. I just want Vettel to qualify P3 or lower so the chances of him being taken out at the start go up.

Will Ferrari pull another gearbox stunt with Massa 5th, Alonso 8th, to get Alonso one place closer and on the clean side of the track?

 

Well, I got one wish. Vettel is P4. As long as he gets tagged at the start I'm happy. I have faith that Alonso has the chops to fight his way up (he's guaranteed a pass on Massa anyway).

And of course you could have a Massa piloted missile at turn one, with a lock-on on stampifoots gearbox.

Well I'd imagine Vettel is a little bit aprehensive seeing as he starts with Massa beside him and Wallretardo right behind.

Bit gutted about Kovaleinen, always liked him.

 

Doubt it, I'd guess they'll try hard to get Massa in front of Vettel to slow him down, then shuffle Massa back by either DNF or screwed up pit stop.

 

Don't expect the race to be at the front tommorow

Think if its dry lh and JB will cruise away from the field, if it rains you never know what will happen,

Personally think alonso title race is done. Even if massa holds up vettel I expect race will finish lh JB webber. So that would mean vettel does not even have to finish.

That Ferrari is just to slow and unless its raining hard then the championship is as good as ran.

Be a long time before McLaren have another quali 1-2 might be there last race 1-2 for a while as well.

Only 1 good drivers seat now spare plenty of options to fill it.

 

Maldonado handed 10 place penalty for failing to take car to weighbridge when ordered to by stewards. Dammit 'Retardo, we were relying on you!

Yep, saw that too - he was pointing into the weighbridge as well. Madlo just drove passed and the official shook his head.

 

Just realised, with the possibility of rain comes the possibility of one of the slower teams gaining a surprise result. It's all but confirmed Caterham need to re-take 10th place in the constructors championship to be able to afford to keep Heikki, and he himself has said he's going to drive with that goal in mind. Would be amazing to see him finish in 11th, earn the team that cash and be rewarded with another year.

It's my mate's birthday tomorrow so I'm going to miss the race. I'll have to record it, watch it Monday evening (tomorrow is an afternoon/evening until kick out time session) and pray I don't see a TV/internet in the mean time. It's like that episode of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads all over again.
