Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - You were so preoccupied with whether you could, you didn't stop to think if you should/10

The whole universe is just getting to silly levels of unbelievability now... Not quite Transformers levels, but not far off.

Was it dumb fun? Sure. But was it so dumb that I could ignore the sheer stupidity of some parts? NOPE! The mercs were Saturday morning cartoon levels of oblivious and useless, the introduction of another rich old bloke who loves dinosaurs but gets taken advantage of just confuses the entire timeline (for me, at least), the fact that ANYONE supports the continuation of artificially made dinosaurs after all the deaths and damage of the previous catastrophes is just bonkers... And to top it off, the main villain dino isn't even as scary as the previous film - it's just small enough to fit more places.

I can literally re-watch the first film a dozen times a year and still enjoy it, still feel the tension and fear in the characters, still believe that it's a scenario that could happen. Everything after that, I just get frustrated while watching people behave and react in completely bizarre ways to situations (usually for comedic effect, unfortunately).

    Get Out 9/10

Awesome movie. Don't watch the trailer beforehand... just do yourself a favour and watch it.

    John Wick: Chapter 2 8/10

This was a lot better than I expected. I wondered where the film was going after the first 15 mins or so, and soon I was engrossed in the breathtaking action. It was unpredictable enough not to be crap, but it's very well done and the acting is very good IMO.

    Avengers: Infinity War: 4/10

I do despair as to how this is rated a whopping 8.7 on imdb, who is rating these things so highly? to put into context thats higher than the Green Mile, Leon, Saving Private Ryan, Alien, etc. Ok i'll give it points for the MCU connectivity thing being unique at the cinema but 22 films later isn't it getting a bit long in the tooth?

i suppose asking Hollywood for something fresh and unique these days is a tall order.

I didn't watch the trailer before hand, neither had I heard anything about the film. For some reason I thought this was a comedy. I think it was just the thumbnail-resolution image that led me to think that...

I was incorrect. Something about books and covers.

One could argue it was part comedy, at least that's how I found it, still really enjoyed though.

I liked Get Out, but I found it one of the most predictable films I have ever seen, which really watered down the horror aspect for me.

Not a movie, but we binge watch 3-4 episodes at a time, so it might as well be - me and the missus are currently halfway through season 4 of American Horror Story. It's so twisted, so visceral and the revolving cast are all so good that it's the first thing in years that has really hooked me.

    Ant-Man and The Wasp - 8/10
I think Marvel have hit their stride now (at least compared to the DC movies)
    Superhero(s) [check]
    Humor / Action ratio [check]
Link to previous/next film in credits [check]
Morally grey bad guy/girl (in this case, the Ghost was quite literally grey) [check]

All-in-all, I really enjoyed it, but at the end of the day it is another marvel film, if you're getting tired of them this isn't going to change your mind.

    Ready Player One 4/10

Started to watch it and was intrigued...it got boring very quickly so I effectively "skimmed" through the rest of the film. Very derivative and shallow; if not for the awesome visuals it would be getting lower than 4.

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout 8/10

Very silly, but endlessly engaging and thoroughly enjoyable. Superman was really good in it. Some of the action scenes are among the best I've ever seen.

    Avengers: Infinity War - Overrated/10
I felt the world overreacted to the end a bit... that is all.
Also - missed opportunity of getting RDJ out of the film - his Iron Man, while very good, is also very old hat now.

    Central Intelligence: Fatsuit/10

I think it was purely CGI rather than an actual fatsuit, but still. Put it on in the background on Netflix while I was doing something else, ended up watching the whole thing. Enjoyed it, but laughed the most at the outtakes pre-credits (as I often do). Absolutely love Dwayne Johnson - the only wrestler I can think of who made the transition to acting and actually feels like he deserves to be cast in things (no, Hulk Hogan doesn't count.)

To be fair, David Bautista has been surprisingly good in everything I've seen him in - and John Cena's various cameo's are usually worth a laugh. But yeah, DJ must literally sweat charisma... I'm so jealous.

Is he the guy who plays Drax in GOTG? Yeah, he's alright too. Having looked at his filmography, though, I haven't seen him in anything else - oh, apart from an episode of Chuck, apparently, but I can't say I remember him.

He's the not-Oddjob in Spectre, also in Hotel Artemis where he plays the most terrifying nurse in history, visiting hours are never.

Got that on the Sky box, but haven't found the three hours to dedicate to it yet!
    Not seen either of those.

Mission Impossible: Fallout - Not so Boy Scout/10.

On the one hand very good, on the other hand I guessed the entire script from the opening scene. The stunts in these films are worth the price of entry, I just wish they would let Simon Pegg be properly badass from time to time, it would be so good seeing him bust out some kung fu.
