As promised, the first technical analysis article (well, second if you count Crysis 2) is going up tomorrow. I'd be interested to know your thoughts. Admittedly this is a bit shorter and less screenshotty than I'd usually hope for, but that's partly down to the game in question and the technical issues around it. I've tried to balance it out with more detailed commentary and discussion about the engine.

    Wrong thread any chance :D.

Suggestion & I think it's a good one, modding related how about a gallery section for all past & present masterpieces which have passed through bit-tech with 1 of the best shots of a rig which works as a link to either a front page article or the project log or both, I arrived at bit-tech a bit late to know what I missed over the years but clearly with some being a bit disapointed this is why I'm sometimes a little puzzled when I see some complain :D so if any other good ideas come to mind I'll shoot them into here :).

It was modding that brought me here, didn't even know about it until someone asked to vote for them in a motm :D but it was a totally worthy mod so still voted & been a bit hooked since :D but still little improvements here & there will be good for bit-tech, it would probably take quite a while to compile the best ones from over the years but once it's done it should be easy to keep on top of.

MDPC gallery style but more in depth with it having links to the project logs :thumb:.

Good idea? or silly .

Got another idea that just came modding related, thanks for the research on moty by Attila, that first one had something sweet in it which formed an idea, the poster was an awesome touch & I'd buy posters of the winning cases if it was an option because I haven't seen 1 winning case or any of the moty contenders cases that sucked in the slightest & being a keen learning modder I'd like a little extra inspiration to motivate me to keep improving :D.

A collage of the moty contenders with podium places for top 10 in the main place would make for a really kickass poster each year I think with maybe just the top 3 on the other side, this way everyone who played a part in this doesn't get forgotten & the top 10 get more poster space :thumb:.

So a big group photo of all contenders rigs at the bottom then 7 of the top 10 above & then the top 3 in a podium style at the top, c'mon you all know that would be sweet :D:rock:, maybe run an official poll for it, kinda depends a lot for if people would buy them, I know I would but I'm a keen modder who can't idle for long :D.

I like the article Joe, it's definitely a step in the right direction.

The combination of comparitive screenshots, functional tweaks and some editorial opinions/insights makes it a better article than it would have been had it focused only on one or the other of those components.
Other sites have mentioned the tweaks, but what's nice here is that we're getting your subjective opinion of the differences they make with screenshots to back that opinion up and so on. It makes for a more rounded article.

    More please. :)

I'm really glad you like it - it's the opinion of the readers that means the most to me nowadays.

:D I'll take it my ideas are rambling nonsense then :p.

Is there a way to stop getting email updates from threads I'm subscribed to without unsubscribing for a little while, just fancy taking time out from the forum for a little & not get pulled back in by awesome updates :D.

Yes there is. If you go into your User CP, under "Subscribed Threads" go into "List Subscriptions". Either tick the top checkbox to select all or do it on a per subscription basis then select your preferences in the selection box, don't forget to press Go!

Surely as a journo that's by far the most important marker?

Who's opinion was more important before?

This isn't meant to be inflammatory in anyway, I'm just genuinely curious.

I didn't mean it like that, it's just that sometimes it's easy to lose sight of that.

I do remember this - unfortunately by the time we received one we had several issues - one of our test systems decided to die meaning we had to back-test a lot of coolers (we didn't review any coolers for a quite a while at this point). Also, we learnt about the imminent release of a new range of stuff from Corsair. Firstly, please accept our apologies! Secondly, we'll have a review of the H80 and H100 plus a whole bunch of other coolers for you in the near future!

I'm already working on a very similar idea which will hopefully be released in the next month or so. But a gallery of the best projects both from MOTY and MOTM as well as featured projects (some of which I've sourced from elsewhere) is a very good idea too!

Ah :) look forward to it :thumb: so much I haven't seen buried deep in the project logs section & there must be some awesome treasures :D completely amazes me the high concentration of great creativity here.

Had to take a little time out from my eyes absorbing too much awesome in a short time, had my mind badly overclocked & know now I sometimes need to step back & relax . Anyone else get overwhelmed by awesomeness & makes the mind go funny or is it just me? :D.
