TIL, Jon Pertwee (the 3rd Doctor Who) once asked Gerry Anderson if he could play Parker, should a live-action version of Thunderbirds be made.

Somehow, I think that would've worked!

TIL that the diagonal lines emanating from bright objects in the dark, e.g. headlights at night, are not something everyone sees and instead a symptom of astigmatism.

    Mind blown basically.

Combine astigmatism with hypermetropia and a need for varifocals and, you get very expensive glasses...

Congratulations on your membership of the Wonky Eyeball Club!

There are some reasonably priced options out their for spectacles with high or complicated prescription requirements, S**cs****s are definitely not it.

I knew about my wonky eyeball (singular), what I didn’t realise is that was the cause of the lines.

I had always assumed that’s just what everyone sees not knowing otherwise. Mental.

And I can now see that they’re not there in my right, but are in my left, which again I’ve never actually noticed.

My earbuds have no mono mode in their companion app, something I've moaned about for a while now.
(Work only allows a single earbud for reasons like "hearing the fire alarm go off")
TIL - There's exactly such a mode in Google's "accessibility" settings.

Today I learned that one of my favourite condiments, Flying Goose Sriracha Hot Chilli sauce, actually has a family of sauces and I've been loving the single chilli weak ass one, time to ramp up the chilies, blackout anyone

So many flavours added to Sriracha, there's like 50 odd, I had no clue, it's like Christmas has come early :D

Cheap, fookin 'ot and most certainly not cheerful. I have been using it for years. Blend of scotch bonnet and my faves (habanero) and will get you snotting lovely.

That was my go to in NZ and when I could get t when I came back.

For many reasons I can't have it now which is annoying as I'd put it on pretty much everything.

    Well, not everything :worried:

tried the Encona I did like it, its like Tabasco, it has a fairly strong vinegar taste the vinegar can over power dishes you put it in, well IMO at least, if you like vinegar you'll have a different opinion, no vinegar on chips for me, which to the rest of my family is sacrilege :D

I know the basis of these sauces is vinegar but it's not the main flavour that comes through in this Sriracha, its a sweeter ketchup like chilli and garlic sauce, loverly, in fact there is an extra garlic one I might try that too, keep those vampires away. I do love chilli and garlic combo, they set each other off nice, used to do a nice ham and mozz. buffalo calzone with cloves of garlic and chillies that was a killer sandwich, I'm hungry now, mouth is watering! :D

Most hot sauces taste like crap. 'Heat' is often all they have going on.

give sriracha a try, the one I currently use is not very hot hence me fancying a hotter one but it is tasty, has a nice balance, I add it to most things, no doubt these other variants I have found of the original might disappoint me.

its the single chilli hot sauce with green top.

TIL - Not only have the California Science Center in LA begun stacking their space shuttle back into a launch configuration, George Lucas is building a "Museum of Narrative Art" on the other side of the road.
Both should be complete in plenty of time for my next visit there in 4-5 years.

I had to do the same a while back - I can still have mild curries, but anything above a Rogan Josh is cause for near-immediate regret.

Dunno if it'd be the same for you, but I've found I can still have hot stuff if it's sulphur-based rather than capsaicin - I can have as much horseradish, wasabi, and mustard as I like, nae bother!

    Very odd, very similar.

I console myself with horseradish and Dijon besides the odd Rogan josh or tikka

The trouble with that is that George Lucas will change the narrative and then pretend that the previous versions don't exist :wallbash:
