I always wonder about these videos about how much is pre-programmed vs how much is reactive.

Even if it is pre-programmed, designing a robot that can do things like that, is bloody remarkable. A massive step forward from the first Honda Asimo.

Indeed; not trying to knock it, but the ambiguity, for me at least, takes some of the shine off it.

Do you want Terminators? Because this is how you get Terminators.

I am simultaneously incredibly impressed and incredibly terrified at what Boston Dynamics are able to do.

"Apprehensive" would be the best way to put it.

The characters certainly look the part (and I'm glad to see that we don't have the same anime-style hypersexualised proportions and outfit for Faye Valentine)... but I said the same thing about that absolute travesty of an Altered Carbon adaptation that Netflix did. One of the few things they got absolutely right about Altered Carbon was the look...

(Not trying to be one of those gatekeeping "THE BOOK/ANIME/ORIGINAL/WHATEVER WAS BETTER" gobshites here but the Kovacs/Altered Carbon trilogy is one of my favourite set of books, and that joke of an adaptation makes an absolute mockery of it. Cowboy Bebop is one of my favourite animes, so... yeah...)

EDIT: And if they don't keep Tank! as the opening theme then I'm gonna give serious thought as to whether I even watch it!!

So I discovered today that Bradley James Allan died a few weeks ago at the grand old age of 48, that's genuinely a tragedy, I bet Jackie Chan never thought he'd outlive his prodigy.
