Curse the Youtube algorithm for making me think there's a sequel or remaster coming... But still, one of my favourite game trailers ever.

    Well that's... a thing...

Honestly, I loved the first game. No word of a PC release date, but given the recent trend it'll likely be a timed exclusive.

I never played the original - heard it was a bit of a marmite game and the launch price was horrific, so I left it alone and forgot about it. I might pick it up on the cheap sites, if it's worthy.

Oh hell no, I’m not paying full price for it…

Definitely a marmite game, and I can see why it’s been called Hideo Kojima’s Walking Simulator. But I found the trudge quite relaxing, and the “online” elements were actually kinda rewarding. It was nice to start building out a road or some other structure, and come back to it later to see that someone else had filled in the gaps. Combat was definitely a shortcoming of the game; it wasn’t really what the majority of the game was about, but then there are sequences where combat is unavoidable. Judging by the trailer, combat definitely seems to have been beefed up in the sequel.

And the elephant in the room is that it’s a Kojima game. That gets many jumping for joy instantly, but it gets an equal number rolling their eyes and glaring with disdain. I haven’t really played many Kojima games in the past, so I had no idea what to expect other than “seriously out there”. And, boy, “out there” is what I got! :hehe:

But I found it strangely compelling; trudging across a barren and beautifully rendered landscape, carrying an unfeasibly large stack of crap, between moments of “Who the **** is that? Why the **** is he wearing a mask? What the **** did they just say? What the **** does that mean? Why the **** do you need me to carry all this ****ing underwear? Does anyone in this ****ing game speak English or is it all made up gibberish?” and “Oh my god what the **** is that ****ing thing?!

If someone were paying then I’d definitely recommend getting the “Director’s Cut” edition over the base game. But… free is free, so… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: sorry, errant link crept in.

I used to work for the firm that made the dashboards for the production XJ220.
The speedo was wildly inaccurate above 100mph because it was sourced from a Ford Scorpio. (Ford owned Jaguar at the time)

I just don't se it working with Liam Neeson... i hope it does but ever time i've seen him even attempt comedy it's just been cringe inducing...

    Yay Gillian Anderson

    Nay Jared Leto

Also how can you have TRON without... y'know... TRON [Bruce Boxleitner]...

The Naked Gun without Leslie Nielsen, is just wrong...

The original Police Squad series is better than any of the films.

I dunno, I enjoyed Jared Leto in Fight Club… mostly the bit where he gets his face smashed in… :hehe:

I haven’t seen this trailer yet, but I will take a look later. From what I understand, the “Flynn” storylines are basically done, and this is a new set of characters. I’m entirely unsure what to expect, and that may not change once I’ve actually seen the trailer.

Also, this is your regularly scheduled reminder that TRON: Legacy came out fifteen years ago. If anyone needs me, I’ll be crumbling into dust in a corner.
