    Sorry but bwahahaha.

So... was he caught short, aggrieved about something or did he just think it was a funny thing to do? The joys of parenthood.

Probably didn't want to stop playing so just went where was convenient?

As an act of defiance he once coughed down the spout of the teapot, it was one of those ones where it's actually really funny but you can't laugh as it'll reinforce it :hehe:

Eldest called me up to investigate an annoying tapping noise. It's very clearly the sound of a leak in the roof... on the other side of the stud wall in the loft conversion.

I *really* hope it can be fixed from the outside, 'cos if not...

Good news: it can be fixed from the outside.

Bad news: at a cost of £1,100... and with no guarantees it'd fix it 'cos it's the pointing that needs sorting, and that's only to do what they can reach without scaffolding - 'cos the scaffolding would be £1,500 on its own.

And the buyers of the old house are still mess-arsing about, so money is tight. Boo-urns.

Yeah we had to fork out for scaffolding for the cowboys, sorry, builders to use after we got this place but before we moved in.

Think our next move will be to no more than two stories. Hell, a large house on one level will do me.

Get a roof ladder and do it yourself. Youtube will sort you on the knowledge front.

F is it with the felt scam lately?.

Mum had her gutters cleaned, said the felt was Fed and it was going to cost 2 grand. I get up, felt is fine.

Aunt needed pointing on her roof, had it done, said the felt needed doing 2k I got up it's fine.

Must be the new scam going around ffs.

Edit. I spose they see an old lady and know they can't climb a ladder eh?

Indeed. That's how Rod Hull went - Off the roof of his bungalow while trying to fix his TV aerial for the footy.

FFS, apparently I've got dodgy charges going back to November last year, all say Apple but Apple deny any knowledge, will have to wait and see what gets refunded from the bank for a total.

Next door lost their cat the other day. Mr Simba was only 4:

Gonna miss seeing that little guy, he would often come up to our conservatory and say hi to our 4, something that they loved seeing given how much they would lean on the glass next to him.

Not going to blame anyone on this as it was clear how much he loved being outside, but this is why ours do not go out, the road gets too busy, especially around school times.

People who scam our elders should be burnt alive on television.

There again, I feel that way about most transgressions.

Apparently the workshop we went to for years to get out car taken care of stuck their thumbs up their arse instead of doing everything required. This lead to the sealing on the panorama glass roof becoming leaky and thus water collecting in the car. Mould is not great outside of certain specific foods, definitely not in a car.

Overall, with everything that was not done but never mentioned to us, we will have to pay upwards of 2K now.

Needless to say, we'll switch to another workshop for the future, but the cost is annoyingly high right now. And there's absolutely no way we'll get any of that back from the workshop who are not legally obliged to do these checks or use the correct grease or even inform us that they skipped things.

    Great.

They all seemed to be like it round here. Then, amazingly, we met a very honest builder two weeks ago. Well I say builder, he is a glazier.

When I moved home from the USA in 08 the window in the bedroom I have had ever since (lived here for four years then use it as my room when I stay) had a "bent" window. What I mean is there was a big gap at the top so I thought the frame was bent or twisted. It stayed like that, and every winter here has been torture. We finally agreed to get it done (mum and I) knowing it would cost a packet. Well last summer the bottom part came out to the same place. I then realised hey, it may be the hinges and thus may be adjustable/fixable. However, I really thought the whole lot would need replacing.

About two weeks ago we had a glazier come out. Stuck two suckers on it, pulled hard and *poof* it came back where it needs to be. Took a quick look and said "Yeah I will replace the hinges". Mum said, with her being anxious, "Can I just have a new window fitted?" (so an open goal for a ahole) and he says "That would be a total waste of money". Wow. Then she says "It needs two units as two are fogged" and he says "Nah they are fine, only replace them if you feel vain". F me, an honest builder *faints*.

Bless him. He phoned back yesterday, £180 all done. That is for all new hinges, adjustments and new handles as they were crap too.

Winter will be much more enjoyable this year lol. But yeah, every other one she has had has been a scum bag. Well unless I am here like. Like the guy who tried the felt scam? I walked into the garden and he shat himself. First the price dropped to £1000 then he just walked away.

I had to fish one out that had squidged between my toes once. My assumption is that they're hopefully old enough to have moved past that now.
You have been spending too much time on the grim dark other thread, J. But it is appropriate, nonetheless.
