Do I win a prize for lowest score on an everyday gaming machine?
Haha, my comp sucks, but I'll wait til SLI AMD mobos come out before I upgrade anything.

::EDIT:: BigZ, I think those ATI drivers are optimized for 3DMark. But nVidia has some out too. It's all about being the topdog and having the highest score. Too many people rely on synthetic benchmarks to choose which card to buy.

Haha, too bad that's SLI. It would have been better if it were a single card score, but as far as I've seen, ATI holds that crown. Personally, I don't see myself spending $1000 on 2 nVidia cards. I'd rather have 2 ATI x800XT PE AIW's running instead.

    that's why I said this here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=70889

I will be working through my testing suite with the 8.07 hot fix, as I'm as interested as you to find out whether the driver is indeed just a +1000 points 3DMark driver.

It's only the case on a board with a 256MB frame buffer. With you having a 128MB 9800 PRO, you won't notice the increase. ATI state that it's a memory allocation fix, I'll be doing some testing to find out whether this is the case or not in real world games ;)
