The Pelikan is nice and smooth, but I have to admit I find it a bit light some times. A bit more heft would be appreciated at times, which is why the Faber-Castell is the one I carry around with me all the time. I'm using Pelikan Blue-Black ink in it, but think I need to play around with some others. If you've got a recommendation for a good dark ink let me know.
Can anyone suggest a good pen? I would like a nice writing pen as i do a lot of it at work and the cheap 20p Biro pens are starting to do my head in. Don't want to spend a ridiculous amount. Only pen manufacturers i am aware of are Parker so I'm willing to be educated.
Acrylic pen blanks. And how they are made. (He didn't skimp on these pens as they are 24ct gold nibs.)
Budget of £20 - £30. Would be nice just to have something that is nice and smooth to write with. Though I don't want a fountain pen as it could get messy at work.
The Lamy Safari is the pen that gets the most recommendations in that price range, I've never used one myself but I hear very good things about them! http://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/showproduct.php?brand=Lamy&range=Safari
Just realised my Parker is a Parker 75 Flighter with a Italic 97 nib. Rather more expensive than I thought it was...
Sadly my TWSB clear pen isn't nice enough to write with... might have to sell it and get something nicer!
Eccentric and expensive hobbies Cheesecake. I need to write more things. Can you recommend a good, cheap pen box/ holder. Box style something preferred as they'll be on my desk.
I can't actually, I've been looking for a nice one for a long time. The best that I could find is this: http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/gingerrose/product/tweed-stud-box
Thanks for the ideas! I'll see what I can find tomorrow or try and make one from walnut. If not, grandpa has an early 1900's writing box in need of some love. This could be a good time to get to grips with things like proper ink wells. I've always loved it.
