How about "chimp_my_ride"? 2 weeks sounds good to me (and enough time for me to lose yet another place in the table)
On one level, it doesn't really matter what the username is. On another, I'd like to see "CPC" or "CustomPC" in it. The username should draw attention to who we are without having to look at the team name, IMHO.
not being biased or anything but whats wrong with "spunkymonkey"??? come on people theres nearly 16 million points head start for you cheers uuurrrr hmmmm spunkymonkey
+1 for CustomPC (no space) +1 for starting Friday noon for two weeks. If the rest of the world don't notice by then it's hardly worth the game.
Dunno how I missed this thread, yeah im a team player so count me in for the few weeks, by the end of this week im hoping to be @ 100k ppd for a while as I got some temp kit I can fold on for a couple of months woooooooop I agree that it needs to have 'CPC' or 'CustomPC' in the username though for sure to get the attention factor
+1 for "CustomPC" as the team name. Regarding the passkey. I think I sort of understand what UncleF was trying to do by using his own passkey with the chimp challenge username. But I'm not too bothered about getting any points folding under a "sub-team" username re-appointed to me at some point in the future. So unless someone else would like to PM UncleF and get him involved, I think we should get on with it. Decide on the username. Get a passkey for that username. Get the 10 A2 WU's we need folded before Friday, and then on Friday change our clients over at 12:00 and hit the ground running. Any bigadv that get returned from 12:00 onwards will get the bonus. Thoughts?
Wasn't meant that way. Was meant as a gritted teeth acceptance of the, now almost unanimous, username. Let's rock and roll.
I'm not too worried about the credit either but I am trying to avoid re-entering passkeys when we switch back and forth as I've entered them in the Linux GPU clients as well If the theory behind what u_f was doing is right we can quickly test it and probably don't need to contact him. I can send a few GPU wus using my passkey but the CustomPC username and then see if they register. Sound OK?
I'd expect the points to register under the "CustomPC" username from any GPU or CPU WU regardless of the which passkey is used when the WU is returned. Stanford never have validated them and as far as I'm aware they still don't. The passkey contents are currently ignored. My concern would be specifically whether the bonus from the bigadv will be awarded to the "CustomPC" username if we do not use a passkey that has been assigned to that specific "CustomPC" username. ie. not just our individual passkeys. I suppose, try it and see. If the only validation when a bigadv WU is returned is, have 10 A2 WU's been returned with that passkey, then we are OK. If the validation goes any deeper. ie. have 10 A2 WU's been returned with that passkey and *does* that passkey belong to the username, we will not be awarded the bonus. That's the question we need the answer to.
How about "I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am!" as our username? Or is that too many characters?
Good point. So to test it I'd have to send one bigadv to CustomPC and see if it gets the bonus or not. They've all just landed and another won't be around for another couple of days so, you're right, we need to get cracking with your plan.
