$75 tow bill to get out of a snowbank :( Hit a crazy icy spot about 200' before someone else on I89 as a state trooper was pulling on to help him out, the change in speed to let the statie in went from bad to no traction. :grr:

Thanks, appreciate it. I did that but in return just got some generic name back. "
    Code:
    STA310003 33AS3 USB Device
". I think I'll have to do some more research. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd very much appreciate it.

@Red Eye, sounds like a Seagate, in fact, there are a couple of threads on Seagates forum, but thats probably of no help to you - the only "shopping related" link i could find is here.

    HTH,

::EDIT:: Further rumblings around various e-tailer reveals...

    you're doing it wrong! :D

    3* Samsung F1 1Tb hdd's
    2* Samsung 80Gb hdds's
    2Gb Patriot ram

= ubuntu fileserver installed to a mirrored array on the 80's, with a software raid 5 array on the TB drives... and a lost two days setting it up.

You're definitely doing it right :p unfortunately I need to save some more for the essentials, ie rent and cider

I'll get myself another F1 for some RAID 1 action when they get down around the £50 mark, I think I trust a single one until then /touches wood

ahhh, don't worry, i've already got the vodkat in! (latest purchase!)

Though I suppose the 7950GTOC i'm paying my housemate for would be my latest purchase, i happened to drop a case onto it whilst i was using it to set my server up (never set rigs up on the floor our of the case...) ooopsies!
