    Thats Finnish

Upper text says Ohjekirjat=manuals, lower.. porat= drills, suuttimet= nozzles etc.

Makes finding things much easier when you keep them in specific place. :)

Pretty work as always. What's that "käsi" next to your keys/wrenches (Avaimet)?

Avaimet are wrenches and "käsi" is käsityökalut = handtools, screwdrivers etc.

Some progress for the hdd cages:

Wanted to add some "engine" look for the hdd:s, just for look and maybe those help cooling the hdd too, but thats not the purpose.

First i tried a little different shape for the finns:

Did loads of filing to get desired shape:

And the overall look was terrible:

    :)

So i cutted them shorter and was nearly satisfied to this look:

Should look nice when polished to mirror. I will do some more shaping and filing for them before that, thought. :thumb:

That isn't bad idea at all. I thought that the case might be metallic red, with some shiny parts, black mesh an white leather used in the interior, that dark orange might fit as well.

    Thanks mate:thumb:

Thanks Cleveland216, good you liked it. I have done more shaping and i think the look is now fine. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

    Update 17.3.2010

    Hdd cages in final shape:

    :)

    Started to make a hood:

    Bended a metal sheet:

    Did some cuts:

My tool to make curves, just pressed the sheet around it with my hands:

    Desired curve:

    Cutted in right shape:

    Welded:

    Bottom part for the hood:

    Welded and weldings smoothened:

    Another side:

    Cutted:

    And another side:

Now i have desired shaped "frame" for the hood :) :

Cutted a pair of things shaped like this:

Bended in desired shape with my diy-bending pliers:

    There it goes:

    And there it is:

Hdd:s going to be placed like this:

Thanks for watching, more coming soon. :)

I got idea for ya regarding the HD. You should window the HD and the window grill should be little pistons with their crankarms going around in the circle of the grill.

or better yet, make a block of whatever material and put spark plugs in it and put that on top of the hard drive and put wires going thru the grooves of those fins connecting to the spark plugs.

Dont know about that, i thought that i will rip all labels from the hdd's and keep them like that. (unless some company wants to sponsor me with couble off hdd's, then i will do something else for them) ;)

I welded those fins for the tray, and after polishing i will replace those alumine rings with uv-acrylic ones.

Thought that it might be enough for them?

Thanks mate, i hope that too :D

    Thanks!

As you said i like to add spikes. :D I thought that in this place they fit quite well. :worried:

:D Maybe i should do some gothic or punk styled next time. ;)

    Thanks, glad you liked it.

    "update"

Attahced 10mm wide stripes to the hood to give a little cap between the mesh and the surface of the hood:

Ps. Last day to vote the color. ;)

    Wow. Dark blue won. :)

I founded very neat looking metallic violet paint, that might be close enough with red and blue too? ;)

    Did something today:

    Frame for the front fan:

^ That zalman is just a broken fan witch i used for modeling.

Its going to be placed there:

Point with it will be that its going to look a speed gauge too, fan is in the midle and numbers between that outer ring and fan hole.

My intention is to add a working hand in it, which shows the speed of the fans. ;)

Internal parts for the fan/speed gauge will be polished to mirror and fan will be lit up with some leds.

I think thats going to look cool?

    Thanks for watching. :thumb:

Welded the mesh for the hood:

    And painted with white primer:

^ Mesh is 0.7mm thick so it was quite tricky to weld, but fortunally final result looks what it supposed.

Not an update, but going slowly forward, thought. ;)

Metallic violet sounds good too. You don't have to listen to polls.:D
I'd love to see you do a watercooled rig.

It will be watercooled and i think i'm going to take that violet.

I'm thinking should i make reservoir/pump to look like starting engine, or just plain polished metal tube? "Nos" bottle would be "neat" but its used so.oo.oo many times before.
