I needed a couple of pics of my current EDC flashlights for the "What's your current EDC" thread on another (flashlight & electronics) forum I frequent, so I went outside this morning and snapped a couple of my Nitecore Extreme which has an OSRAM Golden Dragon Plus LED Emitter (nothing really special about it, I just love it as an EDC) and my Titanium HDS Systems 170 Lumen "Clicky" with a tactical switch (one of only 75 Titanium examples of their "clicky" flashlight manufactured by HDS Systems in Tuscon, Arizona in August-September 2009). It's an extremely collectable, powerful, durable, versatile tool that I am proud to own and use almost every other day. The guys over on CPF lovingly call it "the closest thing to perfection you'll ever find in the flashlight market... until Henry releases the next one that is". They're designed and hand built in the USA by Henry Schneiker and widely considered to be one of the best high performance flashlights in the world, either the rare Titanium version or the standard Aluminium model, and are the result of years of testing and development. It's estimated that around 500 of Henry's lights were carried and used Iraq and Afghanistan between 2007 and 2010 by US military personnel.

I did absolutely no retouching on these photos because I feel horrible today and couldn't be bothered. They were taken on a cheap (let's face it, PoS) point & shoot with a £5 tripod. I really need a DSLR. And some better photo taking skills. Some of the guys on the other forum I mentioned can take unbelievable photos of their lights.

These are two of 13 high performance LED flashlights that I own. The rest are listed in a thread here

Stonedsurd, your photos are breathtaking. you're really got an eye for this!

Love this redscale stuff. First I've heard of it. Definitely going to give it a go (well, with Lightroom...)

I like this one. Could do with a number of fixes, but I just like the badass fleshlight flashlight sitting there on the rocks.

    Thank you :)

    Love this one, Alex :thumb:

Stonedsurd: I like the phoenix shot a lot. Interesting composition.
And to NiHiLiST I am also giving a big thumbs up for the redscale shot.

I was thinking today how I have never shot film, and just got two old russian cameras; so would like to go out and play with film. Those pics definitely pushed me more to actually doing it... Thanks

Here are two shots I took today on the way to work...

And another one I did not take today, but just brought it from the HDD file first time into the lightroom light and onto my flickr.

    Care to enlighten me? ;)

No, seriously, the light is a bit wrong on it, huh?

Just the standard retouches in post. And less/differently angled light. I'm really no pro at giving out suggestions.

Anyway, I was bored at dinner:

Cheers - not sure why my gallery decided to ruin the compression on those shots, it's normally ok - will investigate!

    Love the lifeguard shack...

Thanks for all the comments folks :)

Lightroom's all well and good, but I find half the fun of it is getting to use film. You can pick up a perfectly respectable and fully working film SLR with a lens for about £15 or less off Ebay, and film is cheap as chips for something like this. It doesn't really matter what you use, if it's out of date all the better :)

Actually redscaling the film is really easy too, this is only the second roll I've done and it took all of 2 minutes and I'm genuinely useless at that kind of thing.

    Love this one!

First roll of Black and white film. Though they did such a crap job with the digitising, I'll take my business elsewhere next time :wallbash:

    Comments and Crits?
