    No problem bdigital!

I'm actually not a huge fan of such blatant HDR
It's achieved by taking three photos of the same scene with different exposures.
So then I have one photo that's underexposed but has all the blue clouds + sky
another one that is midtones. And lastly the photo with all the shadow detail.

I merge them in Photoshop (or other software)
and then adjust levels/setting on how much of each photo I want to show.

With Canon dslr it's quite easy to do. With Nikon it's not as obvious to find the settings as the menu suck :p You can do it manually with almost any camera + a tripod.

Thank you very much. I would really like to try some HDR shots for myself, but so far have struggled to find the right subject and/or location.

Ive only had the camera around 6 weeks now and all ive done really is the festival of speed and british superbikes! Perhaps i need to go on some more scenic routes :)

I have a 550d and a tripod. So im assuming i just manually adjust settings to get the 3 differently exposed images, then do the rest with software when im home!

You could probably set the camera to bracket automatically, set up tripod compose how you want the image including "correct" exposure settings. Fire the shutter the camera will take three of five frames automatically with a stop or 0.5 either side, then yeah run it through some magic software.
