Other Quiet?

Anyway Blazz, I have another holiday starting tomorrow. My dad is spending 10 days over here from South Africa, and we're having the weekend in Dublin. This means I won't be on the forum this weekend and from tomorrow, will be having very reduced time on here.
As you know anyway, since January a whole host of things have lead to me having absolute mind****, so I need these holidays a lot!

I guess I'll just be eating cheesecake by myself.

Now, to my exercise bike and trying to find a rowing club!

 

Actually, just wondering guys, does anyone know what's happened to Psycho? He was a pretty prolific poster, had a few home troubles and eventually make a post saying how he'd had enough (I think) on the ruining my life thread. He hasn't been on the forum since July 3rd, and both I and Kidmod are concerned as to what may or may not have happened to him. Could any of the mods send a quick message to his activation e-mail, just to see if he's alright?

 

Actually, that's a good question. Psycho last I checked was moving hence him not being on here as much as he normally is. As far as I know anyways.

 

We popped Psycho an email. We'll let you know if he replies.

I understand your concerns and it is nice to see that we're such a cohesive community, but let's not make this a regular request. We are not a community mental health outreach team, and sometimes you just have to respect people's choice not to get in touch.

 

Begrudgingly, I agree. There are a couple of notable exceptions of course, but in general people just drift out of forum life from time to time. Usually a change of personal circumstances (or worse), but I think if we begin to get too concerned about individual posters on a regular basis it would become impossible to keep up.

mvagusta is probably the most notable exception in recent times, but I myself am guilty of starting the "Where on earth is Unicorn" thread several months back.

 

Yeah, Blazz and I were certainly concerned considering we talked with him on the forum a fair bit. I just hope something good comes of this.

I see that I now have a role to fill the spam void left by your absence.

Admittantly, removing reddit off my opening page on Chrome has increased my BT posting rate, and I'm also a happier person. I don't know if those two things are related.

Another missing member. Why am I only noticing this now? He was a regular (almost daily) poster for a couple of years.

 

Null's quite a youngun (although nowhere near Blazza/Kidmod). My bet is that he discovered alcohol and women and liked them enough to keep him busy...

 

We should leave these people be. They'll come back. They usually do.
