Hadn't fully considered the size of this job I've undertaken...

I wanted to hit the garden hard last night and remove the rest of the grass while it was dry ready for the next stage but the misses moaned at me for spending no time with the family after work.

I obliged, today its raining cats and dogs with no sign of letting up. Next thing 'I wish the garden could be finished, It would be nice for my birthday to have a few drinks with the girls out there'

At this rate love it'll be occupied by me, sat against a backdrop of mud, dead turf and wet decking crying hysterically as I drown my sorrows perched on a bag of ****ing chippings...

So when I moved in with the now wife, her house had a "repaired" water leak from shower into living room.
Gladly I didn't repair the plaster damage as it wasn't fixed, so I resealed everything, man work done......nope, it wasn't fixed.

Did what any other man would do and hoped it'd sort itself, it didn't so time to attack after a more mini water fall when it's usally a drip.
So i've a 4x4" hole in living room ceiling (needed taking out anyway), checked pipes and drainage, all good, so where could it be.

Seems that there's a stud wall tonight the shower pipe feeds down to the shower, bathroom side is tiled, other side is the kids bedroom.
I belive there is a leak on that pipe but it's only when the shower is running and it's pooling under the shower base and coming through in different places in the living room.

To progress I have to demolish something but can't decide best course, I over think things and stress out irrantionally if I've wasted my time.

I'm a competant DIYer but I have to take my time and research things I'm about to do but this seems to be a seat of pants job.

Might just ring insurance but paranoia says they'll reject the claim.

Day has gone down hill rapidly... I am in A&E after cutting my head open on a cupboard door 5 mins before setting off to a friend's wedding...
I look like something from the Somme in my initial dressing and bandage. Apparently they can glue it later; some time in the 4 hour wait.
Also have been told this morning that my ongoing DPF problem with the car is insoluble having spent £1,600 on remedial work and replacement sensors...
Apparently I need a petrol ar like I was going to get before I was tempted elsewhere :wallbash:

Oooh head wounds. I still have a small scar on the top of my forehead (yoof, turning around to say hello to another yoof throwing a rock at me).

Boy, they bleed, my entire top was crimson red. They just don't stop do they?

How times change, back in my day they just tied my hair across the wound and told me not to get a haircut until it'd healed.
Still, back in the day I had hair to tie :sigh:

Got an email from a deposit scheme today, claiming they needed my payment details for my landlady to return my deposit.

Read it carefully and noted deductions at the end for the full amount lmao. She's claiming damage to the flat as well as rent arrears.

Damage? None that was my fault. That would be the bloke above whose flat leaked into mine for months with her ignoring me. Rent arrears? Ohhhh, she means that time she text messaged me demanding £600 per month. I replied stating I'd have no problem paying it if she fixed all of the issues. Back to radio silence it went, but no notarised letter was ever sent. Apparently if you put your rent up you must do so.

So, I've handed over to the ladies at the trust (who now house me) and they're going to do their thing with all of the photos they took and emails I provided them with.

    We shall see what happens.

    Doh!

Didn't have time to read the instructions on the cooker, dryer or washer I just figured I'd wing it.

Today I stripped off the bed and threw it in the washer. Took it out and after two hours nearly in the tumbler it was still damp. Now I've been sure to empty the water container and take out the fluff filter. However, what I didn't know was that the fluff filter is a clam that opens and the fluff is actually inside it.

So I go to take it out and the now very full clam opened by itself and spat out an enormous layer of fluff. "Ohhhhh so that's how it works!"

Back in it went and after an hour it's all dry and back on the bed.

Put in the last load yesterday, set the tumble dryer going and headed off to bed around 7. I'd been doing housework since 6am.

Got up around 5 and that was without sleeping pills so I must have been exhausted. Opened the tumble dryer... empty.

    Looked in the washer *fume*.

That's 1.5 hours of totally wasted leccy.

I know what that's like, my short term memory is poor and I do things like that. Fortunately my wife is understanding.

My left knee. Twisted that little bugger in Dec 2010 while running (slipped on ice) and have since been to five specialists including the knee specialist for the Austrian football national team. Got MRI, x-ray and ultrasonics done. Found nothing. Apparently everything is fine. Well, no, it isn't. Just got up from the couch, the knee locked up (felt like there was a steel bolt through it from left to right) and hurts like a b**** now.

Heard back from the bike shop, they had it working then the gremlins returned, Zyro Fisher refused warranty on it so having to by another. On the plus side its costing me £260 using a combination of vouchers I'd forgotten about, price matching and discount codes. Joys of abusing Halfords!

Still, could of done with that money.

I watched, over the last two days, the B is for Build Evora project.

It disturbs me how arrogant and ignorant someone can be while rebuilding a car, and how imbecilic YouTube comments can be.

I found that channel mildly entertaining, then I saw what he did in the wheel well of that GTR. That should be criminal.

    B is for bodge.

Partner of ten years and husband of five had a sit down with me, at the weekend. Things aren't working for us both and looks like we'll end up going our separate ways...So many emotions right now.

I didn't see that, but yeah.. with the Evora he replaced the aluminium ends of the front of the frame with mild steel. Just slid steel over some aluminium. And then in response to the comments about how the steel will collapse slower than the ali and thus any front impact will just slam two steel posts into the cabin said "I don't think that will happen". Because his decades of experience with mixing hard and soft metals in crash structures tells him otherwise I guess.

He also didn't brace the bolts he used to bolt the pieces together, instead preferring to rely on glue and three bolts not properly torqued to prevent them coming apart with road rattles..

The guy appears entirely clownish in his dismissal of considered points with science on their side..

While true, it'd be nice if a thought was spared for the other road users..

Samcrac and his welded R8 frame, B is for Bozo and his numerous questionable structural repairs..

I was subbed to a couple but I'm growing tired of them all buying Lambos, as apparently if you don't have one you smell or something.

I watch Bad Obsession and a couple of others but my most watched channel now is Mustie1. Or, as I refer to him as, the engine whisperer. The man is clearly a genius, and I get lots of pleasure watching him tinker.

I watch Binky, sometimes Rob Dahm, I watch CarThrottle getting things done for them and Tavarish (the one with all the botched Lambos) mostly because of Jalopnik.
