    The pump appears to have four buttons to select the octane rating, so that's petrol. Car's going to fill with petrol vapour, one spark in a switch and... He won't be doing it again.

    True. This is almost EXACTLY how Hollywood does car explosions, according to Mythbusters, except Hollywood puts the petrol in bin bags, IIRC.

    Yup... typically a hand grenade is intended to decimate people through fragmentation and an atypical bomb detonation is not incendiary, unless it is designed that way or the target is highly flammable... fireballs are just visually expressive.

    That said a shockwave from a bomb WILL knock you off your feet, but at the same time will probably kill you.

    Plastic bin; small charge in the bottom; bin bag; petrol. First charge goes off, aerosolises the petrol; petrol ignites as a fuel-air explosive. Biiig fireball, very little actual heat, goes out very quickly. Visually impressive, about as safe as you can get having actual massive explosions near the talent.

    A week ago, I was walking on a dock and spotted an unattended 25L jerrycan on the swimming platform of a boat. The thing had been under the sun for a while because it was as round as a pumpkin. I thought “Who’s the dumb who leaves a full jerry on a platform on a hot day?” :-/ . An hour later I came back to check on it. It was leaking fuel all over the place like a drunkard taking a piss. So I grabbed it by the handle and dumped it somewhere safe. A few days later, the owner showed up so I informed him. Dumb **** joked about wanting his boat to burn...
