This case is going to be great, chrome is the best way to go, it is easily worth the money. I have subscribed to this thread and i cant wait to see what you do next. I was thinking about getting a FMJ for my 1048 but i was wodnering what the dimensions of it were first since my current case is pretty limited on space. Modsquad if there is anyway you could just measure it real fast whenever you get a chance let me know and i would really appreciate it.
I got quite a bit of work done on the project over the weekend.. Painted and installed the Innovatek HPPS 12v pump in the the Aqua-Computer Full Metal Jacket (sorry Adio, the FMJ is not at my location, I will get you those dimensions ASAP). I retapped/threaded the FMJ to accept stainless 6-32 hexhead bolts. I also cut the top window in the case. The window WILL NOT mount the Innovatek reservoir, it will serve as an cover plate. The reservoir will be mounted from underneath with another green UV acrylic panel that well be bolted to the case (via more stainless bolts). I also made up a green UV side window (may get replaced with a laser-etched one). Just a teaser picture.. Many more soon.. That is some serious green UV acrylic, just overhead fluorescent light.. Man the stuff catches the light well.. Many more pictures to come.
Top window Cut OK this is the step-by-step top window installation. The first thing was to tape off the hole top of the case then "mock-up" the window. Measure twice, cut once.. Lets cut.. Using a jigsaw for the "ruff cut" then the dremel with a grinding wheel to finish it off. And the finished top window. The pictured acrylic panel will only serve as cover plate. The Innovatek reservoir will be mounted in another green UV acrylic panel bolted to the case from underneath. This is the first time I have worked with green UV acrylic. The stuff is "unreal" any cut edge glows like Chernobyl........ I will have a side window update soon. As well as a hardware update, both the Alphacool CPU block and Aqua-Computer GPU block are in my hands. Both look GREAT. More very soon......
http://www.cuttingedgecasemods.com/ I am by no means a Acrylic expert. I have worked with red, blue and clear. When I first cut this stuff, I was shocked!! Perhaps all UV acrylic is like this I can't say. This being my first case with the stuff I can only say (in all honesty) it looks even better in person.
That stuff looks radioactive.. Kinda Funky. All you need is a disco ball and you can start giving kids seizures. I really like the design of the window. . The thing that I like is that with any good modder alcohol isn't too far from the genius
Hey looks a great mod. Done nice work so far...lets hope you can carry it on . Hope all run's smooth (now there's a hope). Good job so far mate.
nice, very nice... how much would it cost to have an entire case done in chrome Oh and it looks like you could setup a business with the amazing work your doing!
