That Porsche is AMAZING! Hahaha. I don't mind the pink. I would prefer it more "hot pink", though. A mate and myself were chatting about this the other day. I was saying how I would paint an F1 car hot pink, simply because it's camera-magnetic. The more cameras are on the car, the more sponsors are interested.
This thing I have against the car is not the colour but the utterly uninspired design of the livery. Same goes for most the cars on the grid. How many main sponsors now have a 'look' that they can say belongs to them even at a glance in the way Gulf, Martini, Castrol, Marlboro, Rothmans etc. have? Vodafone was probably the last I can think of.
Red Bull and Williams-Martini are the only notable ones... But I agree most corporate sponsors tend to be fairly bland now...
Wasn't Williams livery due to Martini? You could argue as well Red Bull but it could fall under a similar view to the orange McLaren or Silver for Mercades as team colours rather than sponsor Livery.
I was thinking of saying Red Bull but really it's just their logo plastered large across the car rather than a specific paint scheme, take away the logo and its just a blue car. If you see duck egg blue and orange you think Gulf, or red and green wavy blobs on white you think Castrol even if the logos aren't visible.
Apparently McLaren may be seeing about Merc engines, also... Susie Wolff looses her drivers licence for speeding, irony http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-39304047
She won't have been banned for just that... It sounds like it's a points ban, where she already had point on her license and this was what put her over the threshold for a ban.
British laws are strict on this for a reason, Most 30 zones are where Children Schools are. She deserves whats happened simple as that.
I think it's too lenient to allow people to speed 3 times (well, get caught 3 times, can't imagine how often these people do it and get away with it..) before they get their license taken away. Same for anyone who gets caught driving without insurance, or no MOT as well - you don't get thrown in prison only after taking a knife to someone or setting fire to your ex's house for 3rd time, but speeding is just as capable of killing someone.
Problem with speeding is you can easily get caught out, miss a sign because because the council refuse to cut shrubs or some other moment you simply misjudge your speed at that moment. I know a few people who spend more time checking their speed than paying attention to the hazards around them. TBH labe discipline and other offences like smoking and driving using a mobile are a bigger cause for concern than speeding within reason. Just because your going fast doesn't mean your out of control. Out of interest how many people actually crawl round a car park at the limit of 5-10mph?
A copper once told me you can't use that as an excuse anymore as any reputable garage should make the necessary sensor adjustments for such a change. Don't know if he was just scare mongering, but he also told me only 25-౩౦% of yellow box speed cameras are active at any given time, not that I'm willing to put that to the test haha.
Having a car with a speedo that under reads at all is an MOT failure. Get caught speeding, try that defense and they will add a charge of driving a vehicle without a valid MOT and a few hundred quid extra in fines.
