Its a carbide tipped Makita 1/2" round-over bit with a 1/2" shaft and a guide bearing.

Most of the router bits I used are Makita with carbide cutting edges.

That's some great work ceder, came out great, now put it all together and get it running.

 

"My space" isn't big enough, so its on to building a new office while waiting for Intel's Penryn processors and other sponsored items...

First, we cleared some space...





Moved some dirt...



Framed up some retaining wall forms...



Poured some concrete...



And started building the home for BaDassumption...





This should be done pretty soon and then I'll get back to buildin' the rig...

So does that make you the first to scratch build a room to put his modded PC case in? I was wondering why they used 2x4's rather then plywood sheets for the cement wall forms though.

We use 2x6's because we can reuse them for framing afterwards.

 

2x6 plus 18" framing? That's free king solid! Down here everything is framed at 26". Here you don't need a window to get out of a burning house, just a football helmet.

Do the Pillars mean you're adding a deck on the 2nd floor?

Makes sense but I wouldn't want concrete all over my wood. 26" on center? man everything around here is 16". I can't even imagine trying to find studs on 26".

 

dutch, yours is framed 18 on center, right?

 

^^^ The walls and floor joists are framed at 16" centers, the roof trusses are at 24" centers.

We have to design for fairly heavy snow loads and seismic forces around here.

 

Dutch, I love your mod! It brings back memories of working on Big Daddy Roth's plastic models with my dad. (Showing my age a bit there.) Well done!
