What are your favourites? This can go back as far as you like, but the first person to say "space invaders" gets a slap.

    Mine:
Qbert (Apparently someone has redone Qbert with 3d OpenGL graphics.....NEEEEEEEEEEED).

Populous (the original, in 1989....still play it!!!)

Civilization (1991. The same gameplay principles underpin civilization 2, Civilization call to power and the rest of the spin-offs).

Ultima VII - The black gate (1992, There never has been or ever will be an RPG as good as this!)

Privateer (1993. Oh my word this was teh 0wns. Privateer 2 didn't come close)

Transport Tycoon (and deluxe) (I have played this game more than any other, and beaten it in a multitude of ways. I NEED a Transport Tycoon 2 (Rollercoaster tycoon just didn't do it for me).

Need for Speed 3, Need for Speed 4 (although dynamically not as good as NFS 5, the gameplay of 4 in particular was truly superb. Look out for a return to form in NFS 6, released 25th of this month!)

Railroad Tycoon II (Gameplay apparently similar to the original, but in a superb engine. Rather better than Tropico which shares the engine).

    I'd have to say:

Kick Start 2 (old dirtbike racing game on teh C64, even had a map editor!)

River Raid (overhead plane shooting, obstacle dodging game also from the C64)

I think that's about it... All my other favourite games are very new..........

Dizzy - a very adventurous egg, i want to meet the game designers that thought of the idea of having a boiled egg as the star of a series of games. I want to know exactly what they'd been smoking when they had the idea

same for the creators of James Pond

A-Train was one I played a lot. Ran fine on the 286, bit fast on the 486 but bullet-train on the Cyrix 150. :sigh:

    Duckhunt was awesome!

    My picks:

    After Burner
Hostage (I mentioned it in the 1st computer thread)
    Wolfenstein
Doom 2 (first game I played online, got beat because I didn't know how to run)
    Street Fighter
    Raiden
    Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
    Tecmo Super Bowl

Yeah, my picks aren't all that old (I'm not either :p) and some of them are consoles, but that's what I mostly played way back when.
