Such is the bane of French cars I'm afraid. Never actually seen a BTCC race, I'm hoping to break my cherry this season some time, although there aren't any races near here now.
Yeah, they're pretty cool. He was one of the ushers and iir, they were given to him by his sister as a gift before the wedding. What shutter speed did you use for this?
Sounds correct - I can't remember off hand, I was stuck in the back of the taxi for ages, and ended up passing the time just fiddling around with the D90's settings. I've got a lens with VR and the slowest I can take sharp enough pics handheld is 1/8, so I started from there in terms of speed, working my way up.
Not something I'm that happy with but felt like sharing regardless. I'm useless at getting the tripod out. D700, 55mm macro AI-S f2.8, Iso 1600, 1/80th .
My first post here, and it's to introduce you to my 9 year old Abit KG-7 lite/AMD Athlon XP 2GHz/1GB DDR/Nvidia XFX FX5700 PC... "Sam"..:
Shot this evening from Point Bonita at the Marin Headlands: That's an active lighthouse that guides ships into San Francisco Bay and makes a TON of noise (foghorn) on foggy days. It was a clear but hazy night and I thought the sky wouldn't do anything, but then it did something! Canon 500D + EF 17-40 lens .9ND hard-edged grad over the sky + .9ND to lengthen the exposure and marinate the colors.
If you're talking to me, it's been "lightroomed" but not photoshopped - Contrast, curves & sharpening. RAW file:
Thank you! I wish I could have zoomed in on the lighthouse a bit more, but it was hard to compose with that big chunk of rock in the way. It's such a remote peninsula, the only way to get a clear shot of the lighthouse is with the aid of a boat or helicopter.
