Cheap dual boot Win10/Android tablet (Chuwi Hi10 Plus). Had to sell my iPad back when some f***wit tried to steal my motorbike, and I've really missed having a tablet.

OK bit of kit so far (nice screen, for sure), but WiFi seems damn slow, so might have to return it.

The Fat Duck would be an experience, I guess. But then again, I'd definitely feel like you afterwards. As in, normal food is so... mundane. I just had two lovely dinners for two, no Michelin stars, each for 130-150 Euros for two. And I really feel that that's the point of diminishing returns unless you get a deal somewhere posh. At least in Germany, that is.

I've got one of them! Used it to take a chunk out of the skirting boards when I was fitting my gun safe. Worked a treat!

'So, I do a bit of motherboard buying, I can stop any time...'
"Hello, my name is TMDD is that PC Buyers Anonymous? I think I need to come to a meeting"

As @Evolutionsic said, do let us know how many 'dead' boards you get to resurrect - I was looking at one with mangled USB 3.0 port and 'a few bent CPU pins' last night, but managed to snap out of it, a working one was £10 more, AND I didn't buy that one either

Only a problem if you don't use or sell them.

Saving some from landfill, you're doing a service.

Oh... you guys... I actually have had 55 through my hands. :D

Here’s how the numbers stack up thus far:
    12 working
    32 need testing
6 dead (not entirely, only one is 00’ing me)
    1 awaiting CPU to test
    4 sold

That sounds about right... so it’s pretty good odds. Those dead ones need further investigation and might even come back to life in some cases.

So are they bent pins, duff electronics or is it a mixed bag?

Do you have some magic pin mender?

It’s mostly just bent pins that people have seemingly inflicted with a screwdriver as there’s no way that they’re bent backwards and under pins in different sections of the socket without touching them.

The magic pin bending tool is a micro flathead and some patience. I have no special tools for it. Just skill. :)

Dell G3 17 for £599 on their crazy mega deal black label thing.

A lot of 'top for the money, good enough for a bit of X-Com/Borderlands/Terraria/SupCom when I actually have some free time... Sorry credit card, you had to take one for the team.

Will use some Christmas bonus to add another stick of RAM and a bigger SSD, but it's enough for now to stop me buying parts for a full rig I don't have the space for (with baby on way) and won't use much.
