Two tickets to see Jack White in Munich in October plus a nice hotel room to crash afterwards.

I realise it's a little late now, but My Home Munich is an absolutely sterling hotel - Dishwasher, hob, microwave, nice bathroom, spacious.. Yeah, one of the best hotels I've been to.

    congrats !

i've been holding off from buying a 1440p 144hz+ IPS monitor for a looooong time after reading all the horror stories, and in the end got lucky too !

sucks to be in the market for a new GPU though !

Thanks for the recommendation. Yes, it is a bit late and it's also fully booked for the dates I need. Also, weirdly enough, it's more expensive than the Pullman I booked.

Yeah, it wasn't cheapcheap, (I think we paid 75 euros for one night), but for how nice it was it was definitely worth it. Breakfast spread wasn't bad either. Super easy to get to, too.

Enjoy Munich! I can recommend Ratskellar as a place to eat. I'm told Little Wolf is good (Smoked meat/bbq type stuff apparently), but I've never eaten there myself. BMW Museum was interesting, if you're into that sort of thing, but it's not a quick thing to run around/get to.

    Welcome to Blackwell Academy
, an in-universe Life is Strange book. One of my all-time favourite games, so I couldn't resist. Sadly, not actually out until the end of October.

Did you buy that panel brand new, @liratheal? Welcome to the 144Hz club, brotha!

I really wanted the IPS variant, but I got mine for $400 shipped with a perfect panel (thankfully!) and could not resist the deal. It was too tempting, and I honestly really like the colors it puts out. I tuned it to look very close to my IPS panel, and it's bloody fantastic. :)

1.6 tons of molassed beet pulp for the deer.
A fertiliser spreader (600 litre capacity disc spreader).
    2 tons of 18-6-12 fertiliser.

I can scrap any thoughts of upgrading my 970 for a long while.

    While on an agricultural theme

    100 tons of straw
    Polaris ranger diesel
Polaris sportsman 570 EPS (I may well kill myself with this)
    6 tons of cattle feed
    1.5m muck shear

and getting quotes for a new 100hp tractor plus straw / hay blower which had better follow soon as the old ones on the farm here are driving me insane plus a stake driver as we've discovered we need to do lots of fencing.

    And on the home front
pre-order for a RTX 2080ti (may not be my smartest purchase)

I have deer. My fencing is 2.4 metres high. Have to get my neighbours help with their Manitou and custom-built stake driver. Stakes are over 3.6m long and about 60-80Kg each :D

One day... I will have the machine to do it myself.

Frankly if we didn't have kilometres of fencing to replace I'd be getting a contractor in to do it, here in France we have the option of borrowing a driver from the local co-operative and paying 0.6 Euros per stake to use it. It will still be cheaper to buy our own driver plus I can then do a section of fence whenever I have the chance as opposed to be rushing to get the kit back to the co-operative.

    Panasonic UB820 UHD Player...

I've found myself gathering more UHD discs than I thought I would, so swapping out the LG UP970 I picked up as a "let's see what this is all about" sort of thing for something more srs
