    Take it easy with the custom 7-pin jacks. That stuff geting old. Try using a modern techlogy jack? GOD! :grr:

    There is no exact due date, but it's basicly ASAP

    Easy man,
    The custom jacks on this case were choosen for two reasons:
    1) Durability, normal USB jacks wouldn't last too long, as this PC could be setup and taken down multiple times in a week.
    2) Security, Custom jacks prevent theft as the extra pins can be used for an alarm function, and also theft of any part would require re-wiring for use on a normal PC.

    Multipin jacks are not old technology, they are use heavily in industry for video, audio, and other signals. (The jacks I am using are built for video)

    Jeese, what crawled up his butt? This projects going nicely and the custom jacks add to it, it gives it a look that you wouldn't normally see, so I don't see any problem with them. People need to calm down with their anger, lol

    Thats a crap load of LEDs. Hope you have fun wireing them up :p :D. that looks awsome with two Leds in..... imagine... :eeek: :blush:

    did you do anything to the plastic (sand etc) to get that streaky effect, or was that how it just came out?

    Wiring the LEDs will be a challange for sure.
    I did nothing to the plastic to get that effect, the mirror like cuts from the laser cutter make the edges create that effect.

    The hard part is getting that effect without using a white background.
    (As in the image)
    I need the same effect on a black background to match the PC.

    I'm not angry or whatever. I'm just annoyed that he still using the simular plug from his Ammo case thats posted everywhere:yawn: I just think it boring thats all then again theres alot stuff thats boring to me espcally windowed case and all the lights. Theres nothing new about it nearly everybody does it.

    Does the outside of the laser cut parts really have that clear of a finish?

    I am having some parts done for me for project baby bliss and I hope they come out that good. By the way awsome design on the blades with the lighting, theyreally do look professonal.. :clap:

    Whay did you use laser cutter wise to do them, the versa laser?

    Yes, the laser cuts a near perfectly smooth edge, and yes it was done on a versalaser.

    that was a great idea to implement the LED holes directly in the CAD drawing... are you planning on putting some kind of shroud on the front to block all the LEDs from view? i think that would look crappy if ya didnt =p im sure you have somthing in mind.

    i just want to see what kind of hardware its gonna have.

    well. this is gonna be a kickass mod. =) zap- you are the freaking man.

    Those LEDs will be directly below a brushed alluminum blade on the front.

    I have completed the UFO glow effect for the PC.

    Under the case, and centered on the bottom is a 9cm acrylic puck that contains twelve ultrabright 5mm Green LEDs.

    You can also see the case feet are now installed.

    This close-up shows the LEDs, resistors and the two existing holes on the case I will use for mounting.
    (They are the screw holes for mounting a 4-point heatsink)
    The holes are off-center but the puck is not.

    holy cow, that's bright, and looks really good.


    /me needs to be able to solder like that

    keep it comin zap, it just keeps getting better (though i still don't think you can top the ammo box lan pc :p )

    The LEDs push fit into the plexi.
    I then filled in the pin-area with hot-glue.

    The LEDs are so bright, I have decided to add a light controller to allow the different effects to be turned up, or down.
